Which speakers will fill 5,000 cubic ft coherently
all tube amps are being unfairly tainted as incapable of driving real world speakers. Onhwy61 (System | Threads | Answers)I don't pick up that generalization from this thread. The discussion here has been focused on Atma-Sphere OTL amps, because ...
arguments against starting a vinyl collection?
Sure i could buy a real basic unit but it might be stacking the deck against vinyl......if i would try, i would probably get a well regarded unit like vpi scoutmaster with sds....4k and then good phono preamp and then interconnect cable cartridge ...
Technics 1210/RB-250 vs. stock arm + fluid damper
That's an interesting option Cytocycle. My reference to the Artisan tonearm was intended to highlight the fact that a high end tonearm offered as an option by a high end table builder (Galibier) has a removable headshell very similar to (if not ex...

03-19-08: Springbok10I'm not arguing about any of your points, tvad, just reporting what Ralph said based on Ty's conversation and Ralph's knowledge of the speakers.Nor am I arguing any of your points. I just wanted to know where the Tyler minimum...

I do think $7-8K is probably necessary to get comparable vinyl nirvana (table and preamp) to fairly compare with my digital bliss.MichaelKarmapolice (Reviews | Threads | Answers)Well, I disagree, but I'm fairly certain it'd be very difficult to mo...

So that doesn't disqualify a 4 ohm speaker for mating with the MA-2, since the speaker's 91 db sensitivity will compensate somewhat. A speaker's impedance and sensitivity are two completely different things, and one does not compensate for the oth...

Technics 1210/RB-250 vs. stock arm + fluid damper
I found it interesting that the Artisan Audio Capricio tonearm offered on Galibier turntables...very fine tables...has a removable headshell with azimuth adjustment ala the Sumiko headshell for the Technics.

arguments against starting a vinyl collection?
Yup...based on your list, you should stay away from LPs. PS, based on the rest of your system and size of your music collection, in my opinion #7 on your list is baloney.;)
Technics 1210/RB-250 vs. stock arm + fluid damper
I just asked a question.
Pass Labs Amplifier Meter meaning?
I received a reply from a knowledgeable source who chooses to remain anonymous:In the XA series, the meter measures bias. From a practicality standpoint when the meter begins moving, it's an indicator the amp has reached rated output.
Pass Labs Amplifier Meter meaning?
It would seem the meter is of no practical purpose to an end user other than to verify that the amplifier is in "operate" mode.
Technics 1210/RB-250 vs. stock arm + fluid damper
In theory, the Rega arm is better than the stock Technics arm. Davetherave (Answers)In what respect is it theoretically better, and according to whom?
