| Review: LSA1 Statement While I am not debating your opinion, Peristalsis, nor am I questioning your judgment, it's interesting to note that Audiogon member Tbg had this to say about the LSA1 Statement speakers:The LSA1 Statements...are the best monitor style speakers I ... | |
| Tweaks I'm a Close'N'Play kind of guy! Jax2 (Reviews | Threads | Answers)Absolutely! The only way to play those Archie's records from Super Sugar Crisp cereal! | |
| The Economy.. will hi end audio mfgs lower prices? Zu Audio eliminated their dealer network, and reduced the prices of their loudspeakers. They're the only high end audio company that's reduced prices, as far as I know. | |
| Smooth Sounding Tube Amps that Can drive ATC At 85dB, they require some substantial muscle. 50wpc isn't going to get the job done, IMO.I'd be looking at 200wpc+.Perhaps a used Moscode 401HR? | |
| Have you turned your loved ones into audiophiles My wife is accepting of the obsession. You'd have to ask her if she considers it a hobby. I don't. Back in the day of DIY, build your own electronics and speakers, it was a hobby; The guys who are still doing that are hobbyists. The rest of us are... | |
| Challenging Critera - kids, space, $3500 budget Under the Mantle, there are book cases that are basically 18 inch cavities loaded with books. If i get floor speakers, this is where they will be placed. What are the maximum dimensions for the speakers that will fit in the space? | |
| Leben integrated amps and Merlin VSM I owned a Leben CS600 and used it with Castle Howard II loudspeakers. That particular combo was outstanding. Three dimensional. Juicy. Lots of fun.The CS600 on Sonata III loudspeakers didn't work nearly as well. I cannot recommend that pairing.How... | |
| Have you turned your loved ones into audiophiles No.It'd be easier to turn Jimmy Dean into a vegan. | |
| Speltz Anti Cables Both Loanofficer and Drubin have good points. One has to consider the terminations and time to build the Speltz ICs, and add something for profit. I'm not going to get into the hornet's nest discussion of determining what profit is appropriate.Howe... | |
| Speaker advise for a new Tube Amp. Klipsch Forte II. Used for around $600. Check E-Bay and Craigslist.Frankly, I don't know what else will fill a 20x40 room on 10wpc, let alone for $500. IMO, true bookshelf speakers aren't going to get the job done.Good luck. | |
| Pass Lab XA30.5 with Totems There are many recent inquiries about the suitability of the Pass Labs XA-30.5 and XA-60.5 amplifiers for use on speakers that most agree require more power than these amps provide. It seems like "hope against hope" that somehow the actual power de... | |
| VTL 5.5 vs. Lamm LL2? Kenetsu, you're welcome. Honestly, I haven't heard an LS26, so I can't offer a comment. | |
| Zu Essence vs Devore Nine vs Maggies 10-06-09: PhilefreakTvad, The speaker you need to hear is the Gemme's. Any of them. They're exactly what your looking. With the only USA Gemme dealer located in Atlanta (according to the Gemme website), a listen seems unlikely. | |
| Pass Labs amp for Usher Be-10 Teajay, I disagree with you regarding the XA-60.5 and the BE-10, but as you say the OP should try an XA-60.5 demo from Reno Hi-Fi, if possible. Maybe they will fill his requirements. | |
| Pass Labs amp for Usher Be-10 I don't believe the XA-60.5 will have enough power to drive the BE-10 with realistic dynamics. The XA-100.5 is the one to have, but if your budget limits you to the X350.5, then go for that one (or the X250.5). |
