Build me a system for my 11' by 15' room
Hi. Since we know in Audiophile jargon $6,000.00 means $8,000, I priced it accordingly. Harbeth speakers, ($2500.00) Sound Anchor speaker stands ($250.00), CJ Premier 11a tube amp ($2000.00), Naim CDX player ($1800.00) , Placette passive preamp (7...
Speltz Anti Cable Speaker Cable
Hey Rsrex, I had a licensed electrician install a dedicted AC panel along with a dedicated ground for my system, separate from the general house ground. I know I am OK up to the first ground rod. I will have to check on the Speltz cable to the sec...
Speltz Anti Cable Speaker Cable
Not sure about for speaker applications, but it is interesting this has come up. While doing some yard work yesterday I noticed the ground wire going from one copper grounding rod to the other was dirty and not making a good connection. I decided ...
Anyone try McCormack DNA + Placette Passive?
Hi, not in your context, but I used the Placette with several different amps (tube and solid state) and was always amazed by it's performance. Definitely worth the +,- $750.00 used to give it a try. Just take note that the length of the interconne...
Best DIY tweak?
Excluding equipment, room acoustics, cables and shelving, I would say running dedicated 20 amp circuits with a dedicated isolated ground, independent of the house ground!! then clean cable dressing, then getting cables off of the ground.
Lamm LL2 w/ Pass labs

Lamm LL2 w/ Pass labs
My point is that I think the Lamm is very dark and syrupy.
Lamm LL2 w/ Pass labs
Just a reference....The Tenor 150 amp IMO is pretty neutral. The Pass IMO is a tad on the dark side.
Lamm LL2 w/ Pass labs
Hi, I found the LL2 Deluxe to be very dark with a Tenor 150 amp.
Biwire posts; how to connect?
Not to beat a dead horse, but if someone can explain why it is better to use jumpers instead of just running the bare wire all the way through to both posts, I would be interested to hear it. Not so much for arguments sake, but I am sincerely curi...
Biwire posts; how to connect?
Hi, I would run the stripped wire all the way through to both posts. On the other hand, I would recommend buying a double run of Speltz Anti-Cables.
Grounding the system
Hi, I have a dedicated isolated ground for my system. Basically the ground lugs from my audio receptacles go to their own set of copper rods independent of the rest of the house ground rods. IMO this is the way to go, although many don't recommend...
