Phono Preamp Gain Question
The KAB calculator is very helpful in getting a broad handle on the gain necessary to lift a low output cartridge. It can be found here:http://www.kabusa.com/pregain.htmScroll down the page a bit and you will find it.
Ripoff Schema Champions
I agree with Drubin. And as far as gray market goods that are purchased overseas, these are often not made in North America, however the North American importer is responsible for servicing the product in her territory. So are you saying that not ...
Latin Female Singers - Any suggestions?
Marta Gomez has some beautiful albums that are nicely recorded on the Chesky label. While I'm on Chesky Ana Caram has some great records in the samba/bossa nova genre.
Machina Dynamica
Geoff well played, I'm a music lover not an English major or psychic. I just answer them the way they are wrote!
Machina Dynamica
Abucktwoeighty I was just answering the question in the original post (I assume that it was a question but the OPs question mark key is apparently not functional) which was, "Does anyone take the products that Machina Dynamica sells." I replied th...

Negative feedback Amp=more faithful reproduction?
There is no stereo system that sounds the way things sound in real life, tube or transitor, NFB or not, though I have not heard your hi-fi. No doubt, it is quite special.
Negative feedback Amp=more faithful reproduction?
Dracule1 it was not my intent to condescend when calling the model that you used "simplistic", so please do not take it that way. We agree to disagree, and that's just fine. If you feel that this is not forwarding the conversation, I am happy to b...

Rupertn do you always have to put your two cents in?
Negative feedback Amp=more faithful reproduction?
The conclusions drawn by the author regarding what quantities of distortion are audible and which are not, seem to be at odds with the work of Hiraga, who would also give more importance to the relative quantities of each order of distortion rathe...
Negative feedback Amp=more faithful reproduction?
"You compared the input signal to the output signal." Just how simplistic is this? So, I'll make it easy, if the two signals are exactly the same but one has 3% second harmonic distortion, and the other has .8% of the, more jarring, 7th harmonic d...
Great guys to deal with in the audio industry
There are more great people in the industry than there is great equipment, IMHO. And pretty much what this means, to me is, that it's a lot easier to be a great guy, or gal, than it is to build a great preamp.
Negative feedback Amp=more faithful reproduction?
Just to go on a little further.....There's no way to know what "faithful reproduction" is, it's just a catch phrase, but, let's for a moment, kid ourselves and pretend that there is. In that event, how could you, as a consumer, isolate the fact th...
Negative feedback Amp=more faithful reproduction?
Accuracy is, of course, a fiction, just the same as musicality is. That said, it's horses for courses. There is appropriate use of NF and there is inappropriate use. There are good sounding components that use NF and bad, and good sounding compone...
CJ Sonographe
Have a look at the motor, it has been many years, but I think that it may be the same Premotek (formerly Philips) that the earlier Linns and Rega used. If it is, then getting one is no problem. I had to buy one last year.
