Cables more hype than value?

What if a blind test with multi participants were conducted, as with some members reported experiences (here) in which all in attendance came to the same conclusion that a clear winner was agreed upon in the given test system, was clipped on you tube for the anyone to hear. Would you then be able to make a valued opinion played back through a pair of laptop speakers?

So then, just one Naim cord placed anywhere in any system will blow it's whole 3-D imaging?

Bo1972, My only Naim product is the CD555/PS555, (I love it) and I'm thinking about their new PS555DR. Very informative thread, guys!

Bo1972, You feel that the source component alone at the beginning of the signal will either make or break the 3-D image regardless of what follows? I have nice other stuff further down the chain :)

Bo, I was being facetious regarding the cables. I just searched " Naim CD555 review". The first one I found was by Michael Fremer for Stereophile were he states "Intensely three dimensional"

The simple answer is no. Actually the $30 watch will be + or - about 15 seconds per month where a mechanical (a real watch) will be + or - app. 10 seconds per day, depending upon variables. Would you notice this difference without testing on a watch timer? (Witschi) No.
I grew up in the Antique business and was a Watchmaker for many years. I have only vintage watches. I choose a watch for the day, give it some winds and set it. Am I synchronized with GMT standard? Not unless I happened to get very lucky. Is it important to me? no.
Will the Rolex keep better time with the installation of a Diamond Bezel? Again, obviously no.
Now the $30 dollar cable could possibly sound better than the $5,000 dollar cable in a particular given system.
Now, would a diamond encrusted cable sound better...... ?
