DENAFRIPS lists the following R2R DACs:

"DENAFRIPS incorporated in year 2012, focus in developing high end audio equipment at a very affordable price. Throughout the years of intense Research & Development, and continuous improvement of the product lines, DENAFRIPS had finally settled with the current product range equipped with R-2R ladder DAC technology. The reason behind this is the designer strongly believe that R-2R DAC is the best way to reproduce music.

The name, DENAFRIPS, stand for:

D-ynamic

Iam really excited to see this Terminator to be review by Absolute Sound and Stereophile, no disrespect to you...,The Yagdrassil already got stellar review on both magazine...I wish Alvin will give them a chance or vice versa.....
Wow Iam dreaming to hear both  yagdrassil and terminator at  Axpona , looking forward to it , thanks David...
David when I checked the website where to pay ? I thought they set their pricing on exchange rate, usually Monday, I could be wrong, but again if it's less than 5k that's even better....iam still open to hear this terminator, if indeed is worth spending 2k plus more with the yagdrassil, why not? I have the Gumby and it's really good....My mind is set to get the new yagdrassil, iam willing to wait until , i hear the terminator.....I will keep the Gumby since I have 2 systems...
US dollars 5k, this was the price I remember, I think also since they are from Singapore, they set their price on Monday, it depends on the exchange rate.
Alvin they are asking where the service will be done just in case the unit need it.Do you have service here in the US?
David thanks for inviting me, I will let you know what is my impression of this two great DACS when I listen to them. I was granted vacations already, It would be really fun...I do appreciate all your info here a Agon, and you email, salute to you David. If you decided to show up at Axpona 2018 .You are more than welcome to hear my systems , and I will treat you with good pizza and beer😀David I live 30 minutes from the venue...
David just pm me, if you make it, I would love to treat you, because you are very nice....
Vinh, I do appreciate you coming to Axpona to hear your products, many likes them, but like the other post said, listening is the best way...See you then at Axpona...                                                   I would buy a gear with good sound with horrible measurement than a gear with a good measurement with a bad sound, Robert Harley got it right on Yaggy....
Vin thank you for the effort of loaning those Denafrips dacs, Alvin thank you as well....It would be really nice for future dac buyers and for those who are looking .. at least many options to choose from ...
Shadorne what do you mean? Putting your credit card away?I wish I live near this place where Vinh  will do the demo....Iam looking forward to hear them at Axpona...
Vinh, What time is the after hours, my Gumby is multibit it’s $1249 , if I will bring my Gumby, I will let you connect it power wise as soon as I arrive, Friday before lunch, then we can listen after hours...that would be a very good idea...so we will have comparison....
Vinh nice demo, Milpai , yes I will do the best I can to describe the sound on each denafrips , for bonus I compare them with Schiit dacs ,they will be there too, I own Gumby though, I will do the best to be fair, going to Axpona my brain is already set on yagdrassil, I delayed the purchase because I might end up liking one of Denafrips dacs...or maybe just the schiit bifrost multibit,
Vinh thank you for this offer comparison, Iam in, I will bring my friend who mentor me on this hobby and music....it’s good to have onother ears.See you then....
David I will be attending 3 days, will bring my Gumby and maybe my friend Metrum onyx, Vinh and I and my friends will listen after show hrs....
David since you can't come you miss your Chicago pizza and beer, but for sure you will read my comparison on Monday.i can't wait...😀
David the pizza are always warm ready, beer remain cold waiting for you...I heard your terminator , indeed a very good DAC..,
Let me first thank Vinh , Gingko crew, Dana cables, they are so cool, nice and very patience, Trelja you review on the  four demo .Denafrifs are right on the money, very very accurate. This are very good DACS, Vinh is so good in explaining.Alvin thank you for sending all those DACS , I could sense most of the listener enjoyed them..You choose the right people to represent those Dacs....
Trelja. I came back to listen again, my friends are very impress with all the Denafrips ..David it’s a blessings to hear all four...
I don’t know how Denafrips does it, The four dacs are excellent, I end buying the Ares, in my system , it’s so palpable , good imaging, slam, extension, very dynamic,  musical, it’s better than my Gumby in this system..Iam impress.Vinh thank you sir, for accommodating my wife with good selection of music..Thank Richard and Norman....
Before you buy expensive Dacs try one of the Denafrips they are excellent...and musical
My first comparison between Gumby and my Ares is on my second system, Tekton impact monitor, and viva integrated, Yamaha 2100 sacd, In a couple of days or maybe this weekend, I will try to connect the Ares to my main system, using Omega rs8, Andra Eggleston Speakers , marantz 8005 sacd as transport, art audio preamp and art audio amp.My Gumby is well match with my main system, iam excited , how the Ares will perform in my main system, I would say both Gumby and Ares if properly match they are both spectacular unit....
David , thank you for putting this thread, because of it I end up with a excellent Dac, A guy who was in the room listening next to us. He own the yaggy, He got so interested on the terminator, Guy from Michigan bought the Pontus too.Yes David I will add more by next week, Your beer and pizza will be upgraded to more expensive one😜lol
Alvin thank you sir, Your Denafrips are excellent, Many enjoyed them including me, I saw people coming back 2 to 3x and stayed longer , 1524 room system sounds great...😃
Since my Ares is broken in, when I bought it.i am hearing the imaging of onyx Metrum which is excellent.slam and transient good as well. Layering is very close to my Gumby in my second system.
Trelja (Joe) If I have extra money I will get the terminator, or even the Pontus, to my surprise my ears prefer the Ares , for my taste it’s more lively, bigger sounding, but less black background, As good as Vinh set up at Axpona I did have a hard figuring out which DAC is playing.I heard all three except Venus.i can strongly recommend Denafrips dacs...you have four dacs to choose from...Joe digital will never beat vynil, why I decided to have vynil and digital..vynil is a lot of work but the music and sound it’s all worth it.....
When I heard the terminator at Axpona 2018 , It sounds very good, Vinh played different kinds of music, with ease and effortlessly, I was in that room for three days, Music came out very involving, soundstage is huge, it’s very 3D .Thats what I heard in that system....
Rich I agree, with my Ares Denafrips and my Schiit Gumby same results regular CDs got better also.My experience bad recording will most of the time sound bad, especially on bright. I think the Venus is not yet burn in why Vinh did not really played it when I was in the gingko room....according to him it’s very close to Terminator....I believe Him ....
Trelja (Joe) When I listened I just knew the Ares has many character sound that I did like. I was gonna purchase the Pontus but the Ares is very involving to my ears, either of those DACs you can’t go wrong. Iam also fortunate when I hooked the Ares it is as good as the Metrum Onyx DAc $1900 and my Gumby $1279 with shipping....Iam getting good 3D , slam, speed, excellent vocal, transient is excellent...this is in my second system...,
I think Alvin will honor whatever promise warranty and shipping wise, As good as the Terminator for the price, compare to Yagdrassil almost half the price, I will probably get the yaggy first, Remember I love my Ares Denafrips , I heard the Yaggy on headphone only Iam impress, I did hear the Terminator at Axpona at Gingko room it sounds amazing, a guy who own Yaggy got interested on Terminator , I am not sure if He bought the DeMO, he was talking to Vihn when I left.....
Coach I remember you, I was the one, who bought the Ares, glad you are happy with your Pontus...i noticed the better the power cord the better the Ares sound, Denafrips are very good DACS...
Reggy I am using integrated Viva tube amp 300B, transport Yamaha s1000 sacd player...
Reggy any pc you will connect on Ares give time until it settle down 3 days minimum , maximum 6 days....be patient this Is an amazing DAC , I was about to buy the Yaggy when I heard the Ares I forgot about the Yaggy...maybe someday I will buy a used yaggy...not now...the Ares and my Gumby using good pc , they perform at their best....
Reggy sorry iam late answering your question, with Ares the better the power cord , the better it will sound, When Iam using my audio magic $49 pc it did sound good, when I tried Kimber Pk 10 And Marigo ultrA  I was shocked it sounded almost very very close to Terminator I listen at Axpona, the smoothness, the black background , 3D , slam, palpability all showed up.My guest Audioquest NRG model will make this Dac even sound better, It’s worth spending to get good pc for the Ares...you will be surprise ,how good this DAC with good pc...
Reggy the key here is patience and matching...and listen to your system for longer hrs if you have time....listening after 12 midnight is even better, play different type of music too.
Reggy do one thing at a time, get good pc for the Ares , be patient to let the cable settle.Enjoy it, After a month you know how the pc sound already. To be honest I used to own Martin Logan Speakers , I replaces the stock cord with Kimber midprice pc about $100 a piece forgot the model, tried the MIT z cord one , both work good, made the Logan more musical and dynamic....speakers do improve with the right pc.
