What is your favorite 1 hit wonder from the 70's?

Innovative disco, before the "disco sucks".
Plus, the lyrics speak more today than they di back then.

Ides of March, "Vehicle", 1970.

"Feelings" - Morris Alpert, a Brazilian. The words are banal but there is a certain melancoly yearning in the song I couldn't put my finger on when I first heard it. Then there was that slight accent of Alpert, didn't know at the time he was Brazilian. Certainly not everyone's cup of tea (why do I feel that is an understatement?) but probably the most performed song by different artists of any pop song of the 70's and that has to count for something although I'm not exactly sure what other than mointo carros for Mr. Alpert.

How Long / Ace

A yes, the 70's. A time of bad hair, bad fashion, and at least SOME really bad music. I know, I was there...

I'll leave it you to determine how good or bad these were, but they were the first to pop to mind:
"Brandy (You're a Fine Girl)" by Looking Glass
"Smokin' in the Boy's Room" by Brownsville Station
"Convoy" by CW McCall (OK, we have a good sense of where that one lands on the quality scale.)

Oh, and by the way, Mott the Hoople had several other reasonably popular albums and singles, not the least of which was "All the Way From Memphis."

Like I said, I was there.

Bugles-Video killed the radio star.A true one hit wonder.
I agree also that quite a few artists' being mentioned were not really one hit one'ders.

The Knack are not a 1 hit wonder. Good Girls Don't hit #11 and Baby Talks Dirty was a top 40 hit. In 1991 Rocket O' Love was a minor hit with some radio play. BTW it's a great song with a killer(woman)video. Starbuck-Moonlight Feels Right has not been mentioned a yacht-rock classic. On a side note God bless Glen Campbell in his battle with Alzheimers that he went public with today. Rinestone cowboy was an iconic pop 70s hit.

Over the years, one that would always just pop into my head out of nowhere was "Something in the Air" by Thunderclap Newman. Released in 1970.
