Which Class D Amplifier? PS Audio, Ghent, Nord, Merrill or other???

I’m looking for a new amp & want Class D.

I’ve seen various brands mentioned, such as PS Audio, Ghent, Nord, Merrel to name a few, but I’ve not heard any of them.

Which company is producing the best sounding Class D?
Which models should I be looking to demo?

Thanks

For the past two months I've been enjoying PS Audio's Stellar M700 monoblocks and these are the best sounding amps I've ever had in my system. My audio buds agree. With return and trade-in offers you can't go wrong by at least trying them out.
The 300 uses a different module than the 700 simply because it is a stereo amp; the 700 is a monoblock.
Gallium nitride (GaN) semiconductors may be desired over silicon carbide (SiC) for power transistor applications because of the greater bandgap of GaN’s 3.4 eV compared to SiC’s of 1.1 ev, but there still exists a fundamental challenge of not being able to grow pure GaN crystals any larger than about 2". This is a limiting factor from a manufacturing standpoint for the general uptake of GaN in power applications; most manufacturers have to use a doped version which is poorer performing and more expensive compared to pure SiC crystals, which can be grown to double and larger sizes. Also, gallium is a rare earth element, silicon, um, not so much.
The D doesn't stand for digital. Can we please stop with the digital amp thing already? That is incorrect. There is no such thing as a digital amplifier.

Class D amps are analog!

PS Audio's S300 is a stereo amp and their M700 is a monoblock, so yes, they use different modules.
After having the PS Audio Gain Cell DAC/preamp and M700s in my system for the past two months, I can still say that I look forward to listening to them everyday. Break in took at least 200 hours but they are now very sweet and powerful, and more than any other amp set up I've had, the soundstage is very deep. This allows instruments and voices to occupy their own space. Separation has never been better. My current hungry Thiel 2.4s sing beautfully with these amps. The pre is connected to the power amps with balanced cable.

Enjoy your PS Audio system! I am sure you will like it!
Tweak1: get those anti-vibration blocks that were cited in the Stereophile review. I got a box of 48 of them for about $26 and they are great!!! I put three of them under all of my components.

Tweak 1: That has been exactly my experience too now with three months into enjoying the PS Audio Gain Cell DAC preamp/M700 monoblocks combo, in my case driving/feeding Thiel CS2.4s and two SVS SB2000 subs.
