Patrick what is interesting is that the two major SACD releases the Stones one and this planned Dylan one aren't multi-channel at all.
The Dylan releases will have a SACD layer and a normal CD layer so they'll play in normal CD players.
On many SACD (non-CD discs) there are multi-channel and stereo layers it means the two are distinct and seperate.
I do not have a multi-channel system so all the SACD's I listen to are in stereo although a lot of them are also multi-channel.
I have heard mult-channel (both SACD and DVDA)on a friend's system and it can be impressive.
Clearly the Stones/Dylan axis is to get SACD discs into the collections of people who don't have SACD players so that they might consider buying a player at a later date.
