VPI HW-19 Jr. Upgrade
I upgraded my HW19 Jr by adding the MK III platter and spindle and noted improved detail especially in the bass.I got an email from someone here on Agon several months ago about making a plinth for the Jr from kitchen counter material like Corian(...
Rogue 88 problems
Sounds great. Thanks for the feedback. I have seen other posts on this site that rave about the M120s.
Rogue 88 problems
Thanks for the feedback folks. I am looking for more "presence" in the low mids, more bass slam and for a bit more separation. In your opinions will the 120s do this compared to the 88 ? I have Meadowlark Shearwater Hot Rods with the 99 pre amp, C...
Rogue 88 problems
Scottht,What differences did you note with the M120 vs the 88 ?I am considering upgrading to the M120s. Thanks Len
Rogue 88 problems
Pren,I have the 88 for about 2 yrs now. When I first bought it (new) the fan was audible from 8-10 feet away. I sent it back to Rogue who swapped it out and now I cannot hear it.I have found Mark O'Brien to be very responsive to customer inquiries...
Bi-wire Cable Choices?...
I've had the Q10s biwired from a Rogue 88 amp to Meadowlark Shearwater Hot Rod speakers for about a year and find them to be a well balanced cable(not excessively bright with good bass). I upgraded on advice from a person in the business who knows...
upgrading Rogue 88 vs monoblocks
I have Meadowlark Shearwater Hot Rod speakers and a CAL 10 CD player. Using DH labs (B-10?) cables and a DH labs interconnect. The speakers efficiency is around 89-90 I believe. I like the 88 but want to try to increase separation, define the sound...
digital tuners
Can anyone name tuners that are RDS compatible ?I have seen a Magnum Dynalab FT 101A here on Audiogon that I am considering in the $500 range. I know it's not RDS compatible but should I look to the future and buy something that is RDS compatible ...
Rogue or Mark Levinson?
I have the Rogue(non-Magnum) 88/99 combo with Meadowlark Shearwater Hot Rods and a CAL 10 CD player. Great for jazz piano and classical with a very smooth sound and tight bass. Not enough "pop" on the low end for me when I play rock. Have not hear...

hum with VPI Jr
Hi all,I moved the liner conditioner(speed controller)away from the other components and that eliminated the hum. I did check the connections before I did this and could not move the cables very easily so moving the speed controller seemed the sim...
digital tuners
Hi all,Thanks for your responses. I am assuming that radio stations will soon be broadcasting a digital signal so I would need a tuner that could receive a digital signal which would then be converted by the tuner to be compatable with my traditio...
Rogue Owners Unite
I am running Chinese KT88s with my 88/99 combo(neither upgraded to Magnum) and want to tame the highs abit and fill out the lower mids. My Meadowlark Shearwaters give wonderful detail but the highs are a touch too bright. Any suggestions ? I've he...
Shearwater efficiency?
I drive the Shearwaters HR with a 35 watt tube amp and get wonderful "liquid" mids and highs. Acoustic guitar is magical. The bass is on the light side but it is not flabby. I listen to alot of jazz so it works well. If you're a rocker then you mi...
speaker match with rogue audio
Try the Meadowlark Shearwaters(Hot Rod version) with this combo. Wonderful mids, non-shrill highs, tight bass and a wonderful sound stage.
