New Technics turntables
What if you had a 1200 GR and a 1500C next to each other with identical phono cartridges, would one turntable better the other?
New Technics turntables
So, the consensus is to buy the 1200 GR even though you don't want or need DJ features?
Pioneer PLX 1000 ancestry
Well, I've gotten plenty of responses as to the quality or deficiencies of the PLX 1000, and even some political comments, but almost none about  it's ancestry, my original question! One response suggested a relationship to the Onyko 1050, as Pione...
Pioneer PLX 1000 ancestry
Wow; all sorts of opinions here! My original question was whether  the Pioneer PLX 1000 is a rebadged Reloop 7000, and I guess it isn't. Why not try to answer the implied question of bondmanp,[above] as to whether the Onyko 1050 has any kinship wi...
Thorens TD-203 experiences?
I'm not sure of propriety, but if you try Vinyl Engine's forum, look at the posts or responses by Rafaelmombo from Sweden. He is obviously very knowledgeable about cartridges and turntables, just loves his TD 203 and  Benz Micro silver cartridges. ...
Can anyone listen to side 1 of Tchaikovsky "1812 Overture"?
Back when the Telarc  came out in the late 70's or early 80's, it was used to demo mainlyAudio Technica cartridges, which co-produced the recording. Not surprisingly, AT cartridges could easily track all cannons, as could Shures, Empires, and many...
Ortofon quintet vs. cadenza series
Helpful responses! Now, if your budget is around $1000, would you go with the Ortofon quintet, used on many audiophile TTs, or, is it worth it to go with the Ortofon cadenza red, the low member of the Cadenza series?
When and how did you, if at all, realize vinyl is better?
When I listened to a CD and was astonished by the spectacular sound and fidelity, then put a LP on and was astonished by the sound of a performance.
What turntable and TONEARM brands sound best with the Denon DL103 and DL 103R? MC's
I agree with the Jelco 750's synergism with the Denon DL 103 and even the 301II. I have 2 turntables [18 cartridges] on which  many cartridges work quite well, not to mention the ease of changing cart's with the Jelco's detachable headshell Jelco ...
Best sounding turntable and cartridge for $1100
Of  all the options you have mentioned I believe this is the best  one if you can  stilll get the package for $1000, not so sure for  $1599! As I stated in a previous post, my Virtuoso retip was $150  3 or 4 years ago and $250  for the 2nd retip e...
Best sounding turntable and cartridge for $1100
I had a Clearaudio Virtuoso [mentioned a couple of responses above.]  Soundsmith retipping  cost $150  for  the bare  bones installation a couple of years ago and took over three months. Just this year I had  another  stylus assembly installed for...
Best sounding turntable and cartridge for $1100
Whoops; I meant Music Fidelity of course, not Music Hall.!
Best sounding turntable and cartridge for $1100
The Music Hall Roundtable originally came as a 3 part system,. but the components could be sold separately Hi Fi Choice gave it a pretty good review, and there are many other good reviews on the internet. Music Direct even has a demo for $199, and...
Rega RP6 vs Pro Ject 1Xpession Carbon - is there $500 difference
The  2 Xperience is quite a bit higher on the food chain. As I recall, around$1500 whereas the Xpression is less than $1000. Check Needle Doctor under turntables for prices on a slew of turntables.
Rega RP6 vs Pro Ject 1Xpession Carbon - is there $500 difference
For my 2 cents worth, I've had the Rega P3, P5, RP6, and RP8, the latter 3 with TTPSU's. I've also had the Project Expression III, with the fishline antiskate.  Those  all have been sold and I currently have a Technics SL 1300 and restored [byV.N....
