Music I would succumb to under torture
Lately, the national anthem made me sick when Trump's picture was on the tube at the same time.   The anthem is all good otherwise (including the Roseanne Barr version)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ls1YVhcLD2cAny Diana Krall came as distant seco...
Musical Fidelity Encore Connect
Go get it.   Musical Fidelity is an bad encounter that every audiophile should have.
Want to get into Analog
My take on vinyl is that: You must be DRIVEN. It’s not only about different sound. It’s an hobby, like those cool people who purchased vintage cars and keep them up. You may invest a lot of money to spin an old record that Princeton Records wouldn...
The Science of Cables
My situation hopefully would not apply to all of you:My expensive cables always sound better if they cost more than my local audio club buddies'.  But strangely, the same new cables typically sound much worst than my last ones from their perspecti...
A DAC that can make digital sound analog?
Audio Aero Capitole Signature or higher model.
Klipsch!. The worst speaker company, EVER?
I once purchased a pair of Klipschorn just for the name. My wife thought that they were some magic show prop. That’s the only positive thing I could recall about Klipschorn.
What are the best speakers you have ever owned and why?
There is no de facto 'BEST' speakers, but I could share the top 3 speakers that I hold onto the longest:Kharma CRM 3.2 FE <still owning>Wilson 3/2 (upgraded drivers and crossovers) <still owning>Vienna Acoustics Mahler
$100k spent on music and $20k on the equipment or the other way around or 50/50 ?
It truly doesn't matter.View your audio equipment investment as having a kitchen you custom ordered.  Your wine and food are like the music media.I'm sure you'd enjoy every bit of both, regardless of the investment ratio.
Tight bass sub recommendations
+1 for RythmikOwned various REL, Velodyne, ML, Revel, SVS, Infinity, B&W, Wharfdale, Sunfire, plus others I don't care to remember...  an MBL too....   Only Wilson impress more but doesn't like that price tag.  I like JL too but matching it ...
US Customs fees. What should I expect ?
In my experience, it is completely arbitrary. I used to purchased many Burmester, Ayon and MBL preamps/dacs/amps from Europe (England / Netherlands / France / Germany). Rarely got taxed, regardless of USPS or UPS.But for "inexpensive" stuff like K...
Does it make sense to use 6k$ Nos tube with 5K$ tube amplifier?
I am a cheap guy: Never buy an entertainment center that cost more than the TV.The same applies here: Never buy $$$$$$$ tubes that cost more than your amp.  Your tubes deserve better.
The Music Room
They are honest but don't expect good deals.  If you don't mind paying 10-25% more for typical used gears, they absolutely give you peace of mind --- as long as you don't need to return them.Been a customer a few times.   Stop dealing with them.  ...
$35K to spend, how will you build a system?
I agree with ricred1 too ... always start with the speakers that are appropriate to the room size and fit your music taste.  Then find the matching power amp.   The rest gets easier after that.Cables would be 2nd to last.  Room treatment / racks /...
