Hey mrd, I have an SP9-MK2. It hasn’t any tone controls and for the most part I don’t miss them. A little tube rolling (very little cause it only has 2 tubes) and 3 different cables rolls and I’m pretty happy.Happy Listening JD

While I’m an ARC fanboy,  I  know that preamps are only one piece of the puzzle. Speakers, amps, wires, spinners, tubes, ears, etc all make a difference.JD

jafreeman,In Saint Louis there is a Classic Rock station, KSHE 95, that has a Sunday morning show from 8-12am that plays really classic rock. They play a couple, three Butts Band tunes. Baja Bus and Be With Me are two I remember.Great tunes.JD
