Audio player software for MQA
MQA should pass through JRiver directly to the Mytek. You just have to make sure not to use any DSPs and you should turn off volume control in JRiver. I have not tried it but that should work. Just see if the light turns on.Roon is planning a soft...
Who has tried "TIDAL" vs other streaming applications?
I am a JRiver on Windows user. I was disappointed that they decided not to integrate Tidal and I had to find another way to try Tidal. I wanted it for CD quality and I am do not use Chrome. The solution was Bubble UPnP on an Android tablet, sendin...
Question on using Vinyl Studio
I have a similar but very different setup - A VPI Scout with a Benz Ebony TR to a Linn Linto to a Korg MR200s to Vinyl Studio on Windows. Playback is through JRiver to a Chord Hugo to a Cary SLP-05, Levinson 432 and Sonus Faber Cremona. The result...
FLAC vs WAV
I went through this exercise a few years ago and did notice byte differences. But when I did binary compares there was no difference. That is why I think you are just seeing padding differences.  At one point I looked at the files with a binary e...
FLAC vs WAV
You can do a binary compare of your two files using, for example,  the Windows fc command at the command prompt.fc/b  file1 file2There are other compare options, but this is a place to start if you want to go into the differences in your files in ...
FLAC vs WAV
The difference of 2 bytes is probably just a matter of how each program pads the end of a file with zeros. It depends on the way the program writes the data. It has nothing to do with the audio data. It is just a programming difference.
Ripping records advice
I am not familiar with the Zoom or the Resident Audio. I looked at the Zoom Tac 2. On Amazon there is a comment that it does not work with the 2015 Macbook, although that is a year old comment.  Also, the description sounds like it may create high...
Ripping records advice
Focusrite is a good choice, although there are plenty of others. One thing to consider is that with the Focusrite you have to have your computer connected to record through the usb. Other A/Ds like the Tascam DR-05  or DR-60D record to a SD card...
VinylStudio
Keith  - Paul is usually very quick about responding but a copy of times lately he has been slow in responding, which is unlike him. Hopefully he will respond soon. Meanwhile, do some testing and we might be able to figure out what is wrong. I am ...
Question on using Vinyl Studio
Great. I have been traveling and not checking in regularly and just saw this, so wanted to check. Glad it is working. Happy digitizing.
Question on using Vinyl Studio
Jeff - if you still are unsure, the Vinyl Studio folder can go anywhere you want to put it. It is not used by JRiver so should not be part of that folder structure. It is used only by VS. It is just the VS library, just like JRiver has a separate ...
VinylStudio
By the way, I do not let VS move my files. I prefer to keep them where I put them originally. That allows me to maintain a file structure that makes sense to me. It my case, the digitized files are maintained in a folder structure based on artist ...
VinylStudio
First, I would post you issue on the VS forum. Are your collections gone or are those no albums in the collections? In the vinyl studio folder there should be a mcf (music collection folder) for each collection. The default is My Albums if I remembe...
Question on using Vinyl Studio
Jeff - You are correct - the original file, vsfile and .crd files stay in the original folder and the output files (the tracks) go into the JRiver folder. The track files are independent of VS, just like CD rip files. Once you create them, they ar...
Question on using Vinyl Studio
Glad to help. I am a real fan of Vinyl Studio. And the price is hard to beat. You can get a trial version of VS. If I remember correctly you can do the whole process just when you write out the track files the corrections are not saved. And you get...
