When I was going thru the (year long) process of auditioning speakers, at one shop the salesman asked me if I prefer "analytic" or "musical" speakers.  It was an interesting question, one I hadn't thought of in those terms before.  My choice was "...

How Many Versions of the Rogue 99 Preamplifier are there?
Two weeks ago, we DC Hi-Fi Group members took a "field trip" to visit Rogue Audio.  These are some of the nicest people you'd ever meet.  I'm sure if you reached out to them via email or the phone number they post on their website, they would be h...

DAC around 1.000 Euro for streaming environment
I would recommend you consider a Mytek Brooklyn DAC or the new Brooklyn DAC+.  The DAC+ model has an updated ESS chipset and a few other upgrades, but the differences in the sound quality are very minor.  You might be able to snag the original DAC...
PS Audio DirectStream DAC or Aqua Formula xHD
I am not familiar with the Aqua DAC, but have enjoyed my PS Audio DirectStream DAC, purchasing mine just after it was released. One thing I very much enjoy about the DAC is that, because it's designed around an FPGA and not an "off the shelf" DAC c...
Is this MQA news a big deal?
Craigl59,I find that my SACDs typically play a little "quieter" than "regular" CDs, though I usually don't have the same music on both formats (only when I have previously purchased an SACD and get one of the multi-CD boxed sets).I presume it's th...
Am i missing something without a power conditioner?
