makes sense; the laser reading process seems critical to final outcome. The off the shelf player does OK but not anywhere near perfect.

The more robust players such as those for jogging feature data buffers, so if there's a momentary loss of data due to shock, it is transparent to the user. So this is not error correction per se but data buffering.

I tend to disagree that directionality is a hoax, but I do think that the arrows might sometimes be incorrect -- maybe the cables you have were made on a Monday :-)

The M.O.B.I interconnect break-in device worked well for me, even though the ICs (solid silver/air dielectric) had been used in my system for at least a year; I had also used the "break-in" track on XLO Test CD for an extended period prior to M.O....

Chairs with foam padding - a good example is the Ikea Puoang chair, otherwise an attractive & inexpensive chair - can have the same deleterious effect on sound in the room as Sonex & similar foam type wall treatments.

Paul Clayton was one of the most prolific singers of sea shanties, I have one album on CD; it is quite well recorded though not recent.

The burn-in track should be played for at least several hours but better to play for up to three days. Play must be continuous. Track 3 is outstanding for speaker placement.
