Vibration Isolation
+1, been using these for about a year with good results.
Best multi-purpose subwoofer
Can't go wrong with JL v2 series. Using mine in both HT and 2 Ch application. Not looking for anything else.  My space is 15X22X8 and the F112 is more than enough.
Main L R speaker connection from seperate amps
Follow up, although it works as expected it also introduced an unacceptable amount of distortion. Especially at the high frequency ranges. I surmise that this may be due to the added connections between amp and speaker in addition to mismatch of m...
Taralabs cables
Hi there, just happen upon this thread and someone here might enlighten me. Recently I purchased a set of Tara labs RSC 1000 biwire, I figured it couldn't be any less than the blue jeans currently in use. Lexicon pre, Emotiva amp, combo, rogue pha...
What are the best speakers you have ever owned and why?
Impossible to answer unless you put parameters such as price range, efficiency etc. When it comes to price range in the under $1500.00 range my best were vintage Polk Srs-SDA 3.1TL. Why? They rocked huge and the soundstage was and still is the bes...
Best return for the money, system upgrade suggestions please.
Nice, room treatmenr/optimization. Single most cost effective way to get any system to really flaunt it's gitty up. Just saying.
Vinyl***What If***
My recommendation for the OP is to forego the vinyl and stick to digital. His budget will not support a vinyl experience. In addition the commitment that vinyl requires is not demonstrated in his post or subsequent posts. It would be a great waste...
Great multichannel amps do not cut it in stereo
Interesting comments. It really is a dilemma. I'll give my solution which works for me and my ears. First a little about my cave, 15 x 23 x8 with room treatment.  HT gear is 5.1 Lexicon MC12B, Emotiva amp (my Krell died) B&W 803D2, Oppo 103, H...
GIK acoustic panels
+1 for GIK, careful to not overly dampen and suck the life out of the room.
Who are some of elite sub woofers?
+1 for JL. Fathom v2 only. Earlier versions had issues but those been worked out in v2. Costly but worth it especially when dual duty, HT and 2Ch, is desired. It is the best small powerful and audiophile sub available. Do some homework and auditio...
What are the best speakers you have ever owned and why?
Some would question my sanity but for me the vintage Polk SDA 3.1TL were and still are in my top 5 best speaker I've had the pleasure to enjoy. It was my choice after auditioning and comparing with the likes of Thiel, Klipsch, Vander Steen etc. Ce...
Ikea Eket shelves with a large vinyl collection?
Fwiw, I decided on the Kalax, 2 units of 4 cubes, stacked and connected via barrel bolts. I could not be happier with them and plan on adding a backing panel for additional stiffness.  But that has time and is not a priority. I did add some felt p...
Hey RICH Audiophiles
There are no poor audiophiles, there are however poor individuals audiophile systems which makes them wise audiophiles.
Bright or Dim?
Fwiw, I'm with Elizabeth, also listen to my system a lot when not tinkering. In my experience I've noticed during daylight hours the system still sounds great but it is influenced by outside ambient noise. In the evenings with less ambient noise i...
Best power conditioner for record cleaner?
It's a scientific fact a higher prices power cord will clean vinyl better than mass produced cords. Recently I hooked up a boutique power cord to my vinyl carbon brush and voila all that ingrained dust just lifted off the vinyl like magic. It did ...
