Suggestions for Speaker Setup
I've tried this method and it works pretty well. Better yet is to follow Vandersteens formula for front-to-back placement on room nodes for best bass response. Basically, the formula is to measure your room length in inches and divide by prime num...

Breaking-in a Pass Amp
Didn't get a chance to demo before and have them on a 10-day in-home demo; no dealers within 600 miles. After only 36 hours they are already beginning to warm up, open up and relax a bit and sounding considerably better than out of the box

I've owned the Rogue 99 Magnum and now own the C2200 and found that the 2200 really came alive by tube rolling the stock tubes out and replaced with upgraded NOS tubes and aftermarket tubes for both the line stage and phono preamp section. Prefera...

JPS Superconductor Q VS Kimber 8TC
I replaced my Kimber 8TC with JPS's entry level Ultraconductor and found the improvement noticeable - a greater sense of openness on all music, along with very well defined bass, involving midrange and clear but refined highs. The music seems to e...
Entry Speakers for McIntosh MC240/C22
Check craigslist and local garage/estate sales. Many people get rid of excellent vintage speakers for near nothing. If you're patient you could find something thata will fit your needs.
