What are the best entry level integrated amps and speakers?
By all means don't purchase an amp and speakers without auditioning them in person, if that's possible. I'm sure you would advise your daughter about that. Some amps and some speakers match up well and others do not. Here's a first hand example.......

For a stand alone phono preamp I probably would limit my budget to $500. Probably overkill for my current setup but if I upgrade the rest of my gear in the future the phono amp would be the one thing I would stay with. For that price would I do bet...

Missing the forest for the trees
Michael Green and others have stated points that are all so true. Listening to music and enjoying the experience that is true to oneself is the optimal end. There is no shame in making a sound system the best it can be. Upgrading equipment, tweaki...
Neil Young - Guitarist
While I do like Neil Young's music I don't see anyone, especially Rolling Stone, ranking him in even the top 100 guitarists. There are many artists that accompany their singing with a guitar and many do it very well. Like Jackson Browne, Willie Ne...

Thanks wtf,My system isn't quite the same as yours. I have two 10" Klipsch subs but one is sealed and one is front ported. That's why I considered plugging the ported one to bring the two closer in performance. Yes, I am using the ICBM in stereo s...

yogiboy suggests that sealed and not ported subs are better for music and ported are better for for HT. My aim is for music. I have read opinions from others that this is true. Originally I had one sealed Klipsch sub. The second sub I added is als...

The 1/3 rule suggested by rbstehno is appreciated but does not apply to my listening space. My room is 15' wide and 20' long. If I apply the 1/3 rule then my listening point would be only 8' away from the speakers and in the way of casual traffic ...

Thanks Bruce, You've offered some very good suggestions. A couple more questions that maybe you and others can weigh in on......The PSB Imagine B speakers are rear ported and PSB suggests that the closer the speakers are placed against the rear wa...
