I’m gob smacked. What were you’re aha moments?
@Imnop, What prompted you to replace your Oppo UDP-205? We have (had) very similar systems. I have UDP-205, integrated (Pass Labs instead of Anthem) and ML Montis.  My main reason for getting the Oppo was the combination of transport and dac w/bal...
Too good to be true?
For what it may or may not be worth, I have been powering ML Montis with Pass INT-150 for a few years now.  Never any issues, sounds marvelous.  No plans to change anything any time soon.
Gallo Reference 3.1 questions...
I used to own the Gallo 3.1.  I would definitely recommend using the sub inputs.  I rolled my own amplification for the second voice coil on the woofer.  I had at the time a 4 channel Wyred4sounnd amplifier and used to channels for the main input ...
Why Power Cables Affect Sound
@doitwithlife, Thank you.  And the first picture is the upgrade and second id stock, correct?  P.S.  Nice system...
Why Power Cables Affect Sound
@doitwithlife, Now we are getting somewhere.  Difference in both input and output waveforms?  The power cable is between the wall and the regenerator?  Is it possible to share the waveforms?  I would love to get a look.
What are the best speakers you have ever owned and why?
In more or less chronological order:- Smaller Advents- Acoustic Research AR 12- ADS L710 (still have them in BR system)- Infinity RSII- Magnepan MG12 w/ REL sub- Infinity RSII back again- Infinity IRS Gamma (these were probably the best...only sol...
Why Power Cables Affect Sound
Elizabeth,Not necessarily disagreeing with you.  We might not be measuring the right characteristic that may or may not affect the perceived change in sound.  But why not measure the obvious things that most likely could affect sound?  If there wa...
Why Power Cables Affect Sound
We have test equipment that can measure small differences in impedance and no they are not inexpensive.  My inquiry is not so much about the impedance of PCs but rather is there measurable difference in the quality of the plus and minus dc power r...
Why Power Cables Affect Sound
Like I said, I'm not saying one way or the other whether you can hear a difference or not.  Just curious to see if there are any measurable differences, even very subtle ones.  Anyone else?
Why Power Cables Affect Sound
Against my better judgment, I am going to jump in here.  First off let me state that the stock power cables in my system have been replaced, but not with what any of you would consider "audiophile" PCs, just heavy duty equipment grade IEC cables.T...
The 70’s are back
Looking at the spec, those new L100s are mostly just look-a-likes compared to the vintage L100s.  I would be very surprised if they sound even remotely similar.  The in the originals, the woofer operated full range without crossover.  Only LF bloc...
Klipsch vs Infinity
I owned IRS Gammas for several years.  Arguably the best speakers I have owned.  While the do not have the sensitivity of the K-horns, they will in fact play extremely loud.  The servo controlled bass is the best I have ever had in my room.   Reas...
Martin Logan speakers
I currently own Montis powered by Pass Labs INT-150  I agree with the comments that they do sound best with classical/jazz/acoustic.  However in my listening room they are more than adequate for rock at any reasonable volume.  If you are an extrem...
How do SVS subwoofers compare to REL?
If you thought the PC-2000 were too big, you'll be shocked by the Hsu, about 5.8 times the physical volume.Several years ago I had MG12s, slightly smaller than your 1.7i's.  I felt that a sub was a "must have".  I went with a REL, but mainly becau...
Martin Logan Montis vs Magico S1 vs sub with Micro Utopias
For what it is worth I have the Montis powered by Pass INT-150.  Works well for me.
