Power Cord Break In
Just use a three prong to IEC adapter.https://www.amazon.com/d/Electric-Plugs/SF-Cable-prong-Adapter-60320-C14/B004OC579E It seems like a power cord will take forever to break in on a fridge since they only run intermittently.
Does a cheap cd transport create poor digital copies?
The program Exact Audio Copy will make a bit perfect copy of a CD as long as the disc has no serious physical defects.  It does not matter what CD ROM drive or USB cable is used.  There may be other programs that do the same things these days, but...
Silver plated copper
I am no chemical engineer but I think oxidation is primarily a result of being in contact with the atmosphere over an extended time period. Corrosion, to my way of thinking, is the actual destruction of the material due to any number of factor...
Silver plated copper
Silver will oxidize just as copper will, but silver will not corrode like copper. What is the difference between oxidizing and corroding?

Is it time to just quit?
Elizabeth,Why not post a virtual system?  It's kind of fun to take photos of you gear, organize it, and write some stuff about each piece.  I assume your system would go in the "Done for Now" category?  It doesn't seem like there is much activity ...
FM vs. HD RADIO.... anybody think FM is better?
I have never been impressed with the way HD radio sounds.  I would rather have a strong FM signal any day.  I am curious what other people have to say.

vpi,Nice looking tables!  Did you ever think about putting the ET2 on the Garrard?  I don't think I've ever seen that combination before.  I have an ET2.5 and a Garrard 301.  I might have to try it.
Linear tracking turntables, whatever happened?
I really don't get it.  Air bearing arms are not hard to set up at all (as long as you have a good design that is fully adjustable) and running them is not complicated, either.  There is virtually no maintenance required after the initial setup wi...
Suggestion To The Moderators To Rid This Site Of Spam
This is seriously one of the worst ideas I have ever heard.
Reasonable RCA Connectors?
Also, Sonic Craft has closeout pricing of $15 on a set of 4 Neotech RCAs that actually sound quite goodI assume you're talking about the Neotech DG-302?  Do you know metal and plating they are made from?  There is no information anywhere about th...
New $24,000 inter-connect
That's the thing, it's all relative I originally went from a Radio Shack interconnect to a $100 Duelund. That's a multiplier of about 50x. Is it better than the Radio Shack cable?

Hi Chris,They "wear out" due to age.  They get hard and crack.  Putting the pump in another room is the easiest way to mitigate vibrations.  An even better way is to use a large air compressor to get rid or the air pulses, but that's a different m...

WISA Audio Pump for ET2 tonearm
I don't know if the green ones in the pic above are original or not because mine were also clear (slightly yellowed from age).  I went to my Sears Hardware and tried 3/4 x 9/16 x 3/32 o-rings, but the weight of the pump caused it to contact the ...
