Joule Electra LA 150
LA 100 MkIII is my absolute reference line stage: dynamic, smooth, detailed and with wonderful midrange liquidity and richness. I heard the LA 150 and thought it was very similar in overall character, perhaps a little drier and with a touch more "...
Any user of Bel Canto DAC 2 ?
I used to own the BC 1.1 and thought it was and exellent unit until I heard Kora Hermes in its basic version. The difference was like night and day: the Kora was much more dynamic with stronger, deeper and tighter bass, much more detail, with very...
What McIntosh Amp With Thiel 3.6 Speakers?
Mitcheft is correct in his discription of MC-300. I used to own it myself before I upgraded to the MC-352. Although it may look like the amps should be similar, they are totally different in character. The MC-300 is a bit brighter in the upper mid...
What McIntosh Amp With Thiel 3.6 Speakers?
I would highly recommend the MC-352. The 3.6's are not easy to drive and the 350 watts that MC-352 provides is just what you need. I had a chance to hear the 3.6's with Mark Levison No 335 and found the combination too cold and edgy. When plugged ...
Suggestions for a DAC
I would definately recommend the Bel Canto dac, especially the upgraded 1.1 version that is more dynamic and extended than the original 1.0, but retaining its rich and smooth character. IMHO it's the most musical DAC south of 2K.
Comparison CJ MV-55 & 11A
The MV-55 would sound beautiful with the ProAcs. I once had an urge to upgrade to the 11a but in direct comparison I preferred the sweet midrange magic of the MV-55 with its equally sweet and liquid treble. The 11a was more dynamic and a little mo...

ACI Titan II LE vs REL: Opinions
I had an extensive experience in my own listening room with both the Titan II LE and the Rel Storm III and eventually opted for the REL. It did offer a better integration and seemed tighter and faster - definately better for pure music. The Titan,...
Is McIntosh still a good choice?
I own the MC-300 and would take it over some of the reviewer's hype ss amps. I did prefer it to the Bel Canto Evo (sotr of on the cool side of neutral, weak bass) and CJ MF-2500 (simlar to the Mac in the midrange and treble but with less kick on t...
Attention Conrad Johnson Premier 11A owners
CJ 11A and the Sonus Faber EA Is is a great combination, but it mates even better with the newer EAII. They were simply made for each other. The synergy is amazing: rich open and holographic sound with excellent dynamics and great bottom end exten...
Most "Musical" speakers
Musical does not necessarily mean less accurate. I think that a speaker is musical when it can reach to your emotions, make you connect with the music. With a musical system you stop analyzing the sound and you concentrate on the performance inste...
Sonus Faber EA 1 vs. EA 2
Whichever model you decide to get, you cannot go wrong with it! I had both versions in my system for quite a long time and they are absolutely some of the best small speakers on the planet. Both are very well balanced, highly musical, with rich co...
CJ - MF2500 & SA400 Comparison
Spend the extra $$$ and get the MF-2500. It's really a much better amp. You'll still have the smoothness of the SA400 but with more harmonically correct and richer mids, better resolution, definately more refinement. SA 400 tends to sound mushy at...

Do you know how much Baxglobal charges in the brokage fees? Are they included in the shipping fees?
rel storm lll for my b&w 603 S2 speakers
You can't go wrong with the Storm. It's one of the most musical subs I've ever heard. If you use the high level connections the integration with the main speakers will be seamless.Good luck!
