Another sign SACD is dying
Thanks Treyhoss.
Notice how many SACD collections for sale?
Tbg, did you buy the RC machine or do you get it done for extra $$. I do understand that the RC process does take some extra effort.

Another sign SACD is dying
Treyhoss, you THE MAN of the hour. Thank you for this wonderful info. What site is this listed on? Would like to get that link, to the site. I am facing-off 2 more guys at audioasylum.com, who told me that major audio magazines say SACD is dead. S...

So, here we are again..on yet another thread of SACD dying. Lets start a thread on how "audiophile" is dying. How people rant about formats rather than music - which is the jist of this hobby.I don't know if SACD is dying or Blu-Ray is dying or Bl...
Another sign SACD is dying
Jaybo, I get subscription mails from Acousticsounds.com every week (sometimes twice), where they list all the LPS, SACDs, DVD-A, etc that are newly released. The list has not stop nor dwindling as of now. So it remains to be seen, how many compani...

I know this is an old thread. But tonight I just completed a session of the Firebird on my Quad 21L. It keeps coming back to me - how come they sell these speakers for such a price? The Quad 21L are very transparent speaker. The soundstage they th...

Another sign SACD is dying
Jaybo, I am refering to "audio" as a hobby..not SACD. I like the SACD sound. But I think people in general do "passive" listening. That is what is killing the hobby. With the fast pace of today's world they feel, that active listening is wha they ...
Another sign SACD is dying
"We" are the knowlegeable audio enthusiast or audiophiles."We" are not pessimists. If you can educate the non-audio enthusiasts (like your friends, cousins, etc), it makes a lot of sense. People really don't know about this hobby. But when they li...
Another sign SACD is dying
Jaybo/Stanhifi, I don't think SACD will die soon. I can clearly remember how Panasonic's DCC died. MD is not much in the US market, but is going strong elsewhere. And if you look at SACD, then more and more albums are getting released. Also, there...
Another sign SACD is dying
One thing I don't understand. All SACDs that are being released now-a-days can be played back on regular CD players. So why does the record industry not produce SACD ONLY? That way people will be exposed to SACDs and they might discover the benefi...
How does Totem do it ???
Hi Dave_b, I believe everyone's taste is different. This is my first time into hi-fi. I used many reviews, magazines, forums, etc as my starting point. Then I visited many a dealers of different brands/equipment. I did not even shortlist the Quads...
How does Totem do it ???
Totem are good loudspeakers. I auditioned the Rainmaker, Arros and Hawk. Very nice loudspeakers. But eventually ended up with Quad 21Ls. Luv the Quads for their speed and transparency.
