Searching for new speakers: Wilson, B&W, ??
The B&W'a are a nice choice but are a little current and power hungry for your set-up and room. The Legacy Focus HD or SE models would be a good choice. They are efficient, have good low to mid bass and are extremely musical at low volumes. I ...
McIntosh or Bryston amps for Legacy Speakers
I've tried Bryston amps with the bigger Legacies and thought the overall sound was rather bright and edgy in the upper mids. Now using a Mac MC-402 SS. This seems like a match made in heaven for the Legacies. IMO.
The search among the great ones - 20k+ speakers
On your short list I think the B&W 8OO Diamonds would be an excellent choice. Maybe even check out the Legacy Whisper XDfor your consideration.
B&w 803s. Vs nautilus 802
Well put, Budt. I agree with you. There are certain people out there and you know who you are, that just can't get it thru their thick heads that there ARE people that like B&W speakers. I don't claim they are the best but do offer good value ...
Room Treatment for Corners - Recommendations?
8 ft. trees, water, wicker baskets???? My god, are you guys serious?
What would happen if Maggie and Wilson Mated?
They make pills for this sort of thing:)
B&W 801D or 802Ds
Dave 72. I use a Mac C-45 preamp and a Mac MC-402 power amp, high current 400 watts per side. Plenty of drive for the power these speakers need. CD player is Cambridge Audio Azur 840-C. Interconnects are Purist Audio Musaeus. Of all the interconnec...
B&W 801D or 802Ds
I think the 802D's are very good speakers. I have a pair in a listening room of 12'X 15 ft.with vaulted ceiling. It is fully carpeted with drapes on two of the four walls. along with some overstuffed furniture. My point is controlling the acoustic...
New Von Schweikert VR 33?
Chad, I don't care one way or the other about the speaker(s) in question. I'm just reading this thread for entertainment. But don't you get the distinct impression that most of the people in this thread wished you would just go away?
Saw the Stereophile review of the B&W 800 Diamond
I think Gshepardbuster is right. I listened to the older 802D and the new Diamond version at length, same room, same electronics, same music same levels, and the differences at best were minimal. Even the salesperson thought they sounded almost id...
Revel Ultima Salon 2's vs B&W 802d's
In response to Nab2's last post. Why do you need all of these other comments on the two speakers in question if you have already determined that the Revel is ultimately the winner in your listening evaluations? You yourself said that the "Revels r...
Revel Ultima Salon 2's vs B&W 802d's
First of all I must apologize to Audiofeil for my remark. I was caught alittle by surprise that he referred the 802D as sounding (overall) unnatural. Afterall, this is a forum for civil discussion, not verbal attack. You said the mids sounded alitt...
Revel Ultima Salon 2's vs B&W 802d's
To Audiofeil. 802D unnatural sounding??? You obviously have a hearing impairment.
Revel Ultima Salon 2's vs B&W 802d's
I have a pair of B&W 802d's and I am quite pleased with their sound. The diamond tweeter is quite an improvement over the older aluminum domes. They have excellent dynamics and a very detailed midrange. You mentioned about vocals. The 802d's d...
Audio Dropping Out on Rega Apollo and Saturn
Did you ever get a chance to compare it to the Cambridge 840C????
