Full range tower speakers with bass under $10k
I think you just need a couple of quality subs with high level inputs, such as REL T7 or T7i that has the Speakon connection.  You can find used T7s for around $500 apiece, which is a far sight more affordable than new speakers.
What is the best USED Speaker Under $10,000
@steve59Yes, at only $2k higher price, the Kanta No.3 are a no-brainer vs the Kanta No.2, IMO.  If you look at the dimensions and specs of Kanta No.3, they are near identical to those of Sopra No.3.  I do think it may be the case that the W cones ...
Ahhh--Problem solved. Adding a REL sub-bass unit...
Yes, I'm getting close to adding a center channel speaker to my setup, but will not do so without, at the same time, also adding a REL sub with the Speakon connection.  Years back, I tried 3 or 4 center channel speakers, but when using them, I los...
Nature of the current used speaker market
@jackskyI attended both AXPONA and RMAF this year, and I would agree that the majority of attendees appeared to be 60+.  At RMAF, I did run into a good number of guys who were 40-ish and seemed to have an ample supply of money to own such speakers...
scala or viva
Well, if it's for home theater, you might get the smaller ones and add a REL T7 sub to each of them to extend their range to 30 Hz.
Focal Sopra 2
After hearing the Sopra N3 powered by the new Classe amps at RMAF, I'm dreaming of a set of them.  Very smooth sounding, with nice, deep bass.
Why are my SF Venere S Speakers not sounding as warm?
The Marantz 6012 has no balanced circuitry, so there is no reason to connect to the amp's XLR inputs.  I think you just need the best RCA interconnects you can get.  Wireworld Silver Eclipse 6, 7, or 8 seems to be a very nice sounding interconnect...
Curious what people think is the best "value" high end speaker (~5K to 15K)
@steve59Yes, at current used prices, Salon 2s are sure tempting, but dang, those are really tall speakers with the tweeters at the top, which puts them way up in the air, well above my seated ear level.  I can only sit about 10 feet away.
Why are my SF Venere S Speakers not sounding as warm?
Well, it would depend on which type connectors you have on your 6012 and your power amp.  What types do you have?  My power amp has only XLR connectors and my AVR has only rca connectors, so I use rca interconnects with an XLR adapter on the amp e...
Why are my SF Venere S Speakers not sounding as warm?
Since you are now going be using your 6012 as a pre-amp, you will need a set of interconnects to connect to the Krell.  Now, unless you get very good interconnects, you may actually experience a LOSS of audio quality in terms of fine detail, textu...
Dynaudio C20 vs other monitors in the 4-7k range
Listen to a set of Legacy Audio Calibre.
full-scale orchestral music—best test of speakers’ potential?
IMO, well recorded big band music is also a good test.  You have brash trumpets, saxes, and trombones.  Also, big drum sets with lots of cymbals.
Amp/Preamps vs. High end AV Receivers
I always like to get a mid level AVR that has analog pre-outs for plenty of channels, then add an separate power amp.  In the OP's case, that could be a 5-channel amp.  It will, however, cost some money for decent interconnects.  Like some others,...
Amp/Preamps vs. High end AV Receivers
Well, I’m still using my TX-NR809 in my bedroom system. The thing is a 40 pound beast, and I’m not sure you can get much better audio quality with any of these newer AVRs. And 4K capability is not really required in an AVR if you get a UHD Blu-ray...

A link to a pic of your room would help a lot to improve and facilitate good recommendations for you.
