SME V aftermarket cable?
I switched to XLO Signature cable with great improvement, after previously trying Kimber and Van Del Hul with less than satisfactory results over the OEM cable.
Quad 989 vs. SoundLab Millennium 2
I have in what is my second system, ELS 63's and tried 989's when I was upgrading, and then SoundLabs - chalk and cheese! SoundLabs excelled and surpassed the 989's in every area.I went on to build my high-end system around a pair of SoundLab U1-P...

Dual Subs set up advice
You had better have a large room if you want to try ML Descenti subs in different locations, not to mention moving them around.I have only one word which can describe moving SoundLabs once they are spiked - HERNIA!
Best CD I've heard so far 2011.........
Diana Krall, Doing All Right. Live concert recording from the Jazzaldia Festival in Spain.
Dual Subs set up advice
I'm running a pair of ML Descenti's with SoundLab U1-PX's and for me the best feed connection has been to piggy back onto the main speaker terminal posts and feed that back into the RCA in on the sub.
need cable advice, MBL + Bryston + ARC system
I've tried Synergistic with ARC and not a good match. I have had great satisfaction using JPL Labs, especially the Aluminata.
Audio Research REF 3 and REF 5 Tweaks
Gpgr4blu, think you've put your decimal point in the wrong place or the price of plexiglass has risen faster and higher than the price of copper! Mine were $25.00 dollars if bought afterward, no charge if ordered with the units.
Has anybody heard the new Audio Research LS 27?
I started building a system around ARC units in 1980 and have changed them over the years as Pre's, Powers, Dacs, & CD Players have been superseded. There have been few occasions when the change has been a retro grade step in terms of musicalit...
Fan in Audio Research tube pre-amp
I never owned an ARC pre with fans, but have had both Classic 120's and 150's with extermely noisey fans which I changed out from the Taiwan OEM originals for German Papst fans which run really quite.I've got the top mounted optional extra fans in...
Audio Research REF 3 and REF 5 Tweaks
Oreganpapa; The plexiglass top covers can be ordered as an alternative to the 'tin plate' originals. They [plexi]don't ring or rattle, as I've experienced with the earlier material.Cost for GNS Statement upgrade was $3000+ plus return shipping fro...
Audio Research REF 3 and REF 5 Tweaks
My Ref 5 tweaks: GNS 'Statement' upgrade, Nordost Valhalla power cord supported on maple blocks, Gingko Mini Clouds under feet. Plexiglass cover with Note Pad damper.

How's the Audio Research Ref Phono 2 Working Out?
This is the fifth ARC phono stage I've owned, and by far the best. Detail, depth, width are all superior to previous models. And totally noiseless in itself.
