Thinking of replacing my Bat spaceheater with class D, real world thoughts please
Its not surprising that W4S are  good listening.   They were Cullen in their previous iteration and were making the class D amps for PSA back then.. The internals I suspect and I don't know more that that-- If I recall correctly.        Class D   ...
Thinking of replacing my Bat spaceheater with class D, real world thoughts please
I forgot to mention--- I had the PS Audio GCA-100  class D amp that came out after the HCA-2.   GCA is a  great sounding amp as well... The HCA-2 had quite a following though and many preferred that earlier version.
Thinking of replacing my Bat spaceheater with class D, real world thoughts please
Oh yeah,   the BAT you have  is a beast.  great  amp and certainly can be fun at times.   I wouldn't be able to run it though like all the time.   .   best thing is switching off  from the smelter   to other amps at times so as not to heat up the ...
Thinking of replacing my Bat spaceheater with class D, real world thoughts please
Been there --  the  simple answer at least for me is  --- Ive wound up relegating  the class d for duty in hot weather.     I wouldn't be in a hurry to sell your BAT although that sounds like a bit of heavy weight and likely equivalent good listen...
are digital recordings on vinyl any better than CD
While of course it can be debated which sounds better --cd or vinyl-and this is all based on the sophistication of the equipment used to make those recordings.    It was easy to make that comparison when cd's first came out.  It was hands down tha...
Reliabilty, Keeping Equipment Powered on or off?
A suggestion that I have deemed to worthwhile considering is the contention that amps,,etc  are most at risk for damage when a unit is turned on.   Inrush current.    While undoubtedly there are  electrical components in place to help counter any ...

Marantz SC 11 S1 Pre amp
I  have had a fondness for Marantz equipment in the past---and had essentially lusted after the build quality and appearance of these newer  components---And of course I do realize that one can get caught up in the "lust" factor.. and that should ...

Pass Labs X-1, X2.5 preamp volume increments.
Watercourse,    I neglected to acknowledge  the pertinent info  you gave regarding  low volume capabilities (or not) of the X-1 when in your system.    Sure there are variables involved ,  source output ,etc.   What you have conveyed though would ...
The one piece of gear you will never sell
Just to mention---the good deals on the transports being that it happens sometimes with the advent of music servers and the like.  I scored my Lambda and Museatex for 400 and 300 respectively.  And I did have the PSA  perfect wave which I did not ...
