| Tekton Double Impacts vs the competition.... Tommy .....being a pro musician, your ears are most likely shot. Like all of us, find happiness where you can | |
| How many members have climate controlled listening rooms Where's your thermostat. In My house, there was too much variation in temp/humidity, so I got a thermostat with remote sensors that communicate on line....very much better. (Ecobee) | |
| Low mass 12" tonearms? Get a suggestion from Soundsmith. He's values his customers and knows his products. ( His stuff usually mates well with VPI - but that's only my suggestion) | |
| Jeff Rowland Design Group I also had wonderful support from Rowland. | |
| Harmon Kardon ST-7 with Rabco Tonearm I never owned one, but a close friend did.....agreed with schubert (above). The arm is a dog - don't think it was Rabco. | |
| Bi-amp through receiver vs pre out to 2 channel for fronts forget biamping unless you have 2 exactly the same amps....your connection is much too fraught with "issues" | |
| BEST SHIELDED XLR CABLES I use XLR balanced cable throughout my system... and comparing various high end brands, the differences between them are minimal....not so with speaker cables, but true with interconnects | |
| What do people place on their platter for dust protection I'm with BPAudio | |
| Vandersteen 1 repair. Dsycks......just let Vandersteen do the repair....how could you question them..... | |
| C/D player Ayre C5xemp | |
| Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Noise issue driving me nuts! ..sounds like a Grado picking up transformer noise under platter...... | |
| LOOKING TO MAKE A TURNTABLE CHANGE, HOPEFULLY AN IMPROVEMENT HiFiMan5 - When I changed to the aluminum (Classic) platter the improvement was dramatic. What do you like about the acrylic??McFeil - have you listened to the VPI3D/2nd pivot? or the Fat Boy?? | |
| Seeking informed advice on speaker acquisition (Vandersteen vs. OHM Walsh) I second gdnrbob's post. When I was a kid the speaker that did it for me were the Ohm A.......although you needed Boulder Dam to get them to do their thing. I now have Vandersteen 5A.....always smiles. | |
| Grado Sonata Cartridge vs. Rega Ania I had a Sonata in a Rega years ago, and found the cartridge musical, but short on definition and bloom. I don't know the Ania. I think I'd look to lots of different cartridges before settling in, if change is in the offing. | |
| What time do you wear? For all of you with good watches.....recently, my Breitling Navitimer would stop. I sent it to Breitling who would fix it for 1550.00 dollars but I declined and had them return the watch. I found a guy in Florida who fixes all these kinds of watch... |
