What direction is VPI headed?
Testpilot....the salesman wanted more money from you...he has his own interest at heart...but that's why they call them salesmen.  I have a Porsche sports car with many items that are very appropriate for the track - none of which I use to get fro...
What direction is VPI headed?
I have a VPI and would do it again...but in truth, their customer service now is not nearly as responsive as when Harry had it.  I know its a bigger company, but they should not forget those that put them in that position.  also, no product should...

adapters will not improve the sound......You should choose BAT for best integration.

Chakster...I have lots of older RCA's, Mercury's etc. that sound wonderful....I also have some digitally recorded LP's that also sound wonderful.  New records (popular especially) are highly processed and not lifelike...  While I'm writing I'll re...

Looks like a new Magnepan speaker is coming!!!
I love Maggies.....except they don't last long.  They self-delaminate after a few years....(5 or so)   Maybe the brand new ones are using a different Dupont(?) product...I would hope.

The Foz is not self calibrating...there is a simple procedure. Mine always registers  0 to begin.  If you can set azimuth by ear...have at it. I know mine is correct.  The arm does have an offset, however, the arm moves up and down on the same pla...
Just retired and want to get back to vinyl listening
Here's my advice.....if you already have a system that plays CD's do that.  All the music you want to listen to is on CD.  Hire a teacher and take violin, flute, sax etc. lessons. When you know how music works, you'll appreciate those CD's even mo...

you have to be nuts to readjust your arm for every or even for different records.  This started out to be a caution for all to properly adjust azimuth, and how important this adjustment is on sound.  I've said what I wanted  - this line of posts i...
What tonearm will better mine?
If you do decide on a VPI 3D arm...also seriously consider the 2nd pivot modification.
