Is the Townshend Rock 7 "the" giant killer? I think I am going to have to try out the Rock 7 at some point.
My turntable hates Cat Stevens it's nothing to do with you. I have the exact same thing and I thought it was a known fact that some of the vocals on this album where a bit hot?
The usual suspects: S1, Cirrus, Tempesta, MMM1 "you must have the stands because the x-over is stuffed into the base of the stand"Incorrect. My Cirrus have the x-over in a separate compartment at the bottom of the speaker and I use my own stands.
The usual suspects: S1, Cirrus, Tempesta, MMM1 "I haven't heard the Cirrus, but a Cirrus owner has been here and heard my Tempestas. He was a bit embarrassed to admit the Tmepestas were notably better"Really? I find it hard to believe there would be this level of difference, no matter which on...
Got my Berlin Mini's today Djanggo - exactly.
Got my Berlin Mini's today how come there is no completed listing on ebay anytime recently for a pair of these? I wanted to see which ones you got.
Zesto Andros PS-1 Tubes Pops, you make no sense.
Zesto Andros PS-1 Tubes I've mentioned this to Cfluxa already, but I've compared the stock JJ ECC83s with the JJ ECC803s and heard very little to no difference. I liked the sound of the Gold Lions in my Chinook and wouldn't mind trying those in the Zesto. Smatsui, did yo...
Most important vinyl component to upgrade first ? 3/4, 1, 5, 2
Turntable setup under $2000? You could get a Well Tempered Simplex with a Denon 103R for $2300 and I'm confident it would trounce those other tables you tried. People give me grief for it, but when I had my fully tricked out Rega P5 "harsh" is exactly how I described it. It's...
Rega P5 w/Denon 103R what should I upgrade to? your cart is capable of amazing things, that is not the source of your problem. I would look into getting a better table as a starting point.
phono pre suggestions I wouldn't worry about two volume controls possibly down the road, but running a phono pre direct to your amp is a whole nother world. you need to have a higher gain amp and the impedances matching well for it to work properly. The Manley is far m...
phono pre suggestions I've had the 834P and the Chinook, there's no comparison, Chinook all the way. It's great for rock. There's a used one now for $1795 OBO on the site now. I'd grab that in a second and you won't have a need to upgrade later.
Preamp - 18 dB Gain too low? my 845 amp is very high, 200mv. I wonder if I am losing any performance since my volume is at 9pm for normal listening. it sure sounds good though despite the touchy volume control. the manufacturer said I could swap out two resistors to make it l...
Denon 103 output--Step-up needed? you should have 60-65db, what does your phono stage have? |
