Cable info

There are some Cardas clear light cables, nib, still around. They sound great with my node 2. 

I wouldn't spend your money on cables,  instead put it towards an outboard Dac which will improve the sound of your Node by an order of magnitude.

Well, unless he buys one with mqa built in, the node 2 is a great value. 

Mytek Liberty or Brooklyn both have MQA built in and are a MASSIVE upgrade on the Bluesound built in DAC.

Not to get too far off topic, has anyone heard the Bluesound Node 2i? From what I hear they are suppose to be substantially better sounding than the Node 2. Still interested in cable suggestions comparable to Transparent Audio Ultra mm2. Those would be my next jump because they are in my price range in the preowned market.

@luvrockin The sound should be identical.  No change in the DAC, only more connectivity options.

I use the Acoustic BBQ(16g Dueland wire) IC's made and sold by grannyring on this site with my Node 2.  Very pleased.

I would echo the suggestion of spending your money on a better external DAC than the one in the Node 2. 

I can't see the logic in spending a lot of money to replace the already good interconnects you have to try to improve the sound quality of a DAC included in a $500 piece of gear. 

Take what I said with a grain of salt as I don't know how good the sound quality of the RCA outputs is, I connected my Node 2 to my Auralic Vega immediately.  I'm very pleased with the sound quality in this configuration, but the Vega doesn't do MQA.  I am skeptical that MQA directly from the Node 2 would be better than what is coming out of the Vega.

I picked up one pair of the new Cardas Clear Cygnus RCA Interconnects to use in a different system I put together, used between my Allnic T-1500 300B Integrated amp and MBL CDP. I was shocked to hear how it bettered many interconnects that I find to be very good and have highly praised.
The Cardas Clear Reflection, Clear Interconnect, and Clear Beyond cost more and sound better at the usual pay a lot more and get a bit more improvement price.

I did extensive a-b comparison between rca out and spdif out from my vault 2 using same nordost heimdal series interconnect.
There really was NO comparison in my system.
But you are looking at 2k for a Brooklyn so.......

Depends on your budget.
Node2 is only $500 so would not make sense to spend same again on RCA cables. The nordost heimdal are probably over 1k new and I doubt the node2 dac is any different to the vault2 DAC.
I know the Mytek liberty is about 1k new the Brooklyn about $2200 new so it all depends how far you want to go.

@luvrockin The Node 2 responds very nicely to connecting it with GREAT cables - both power cables and Interconnects-

It also responds well to having cone feet installed underneath - I have mine sitting on a granite tile. I have tried both brass cones and wood cones and they both provide improvements in extremely fine details and imaging

If you are not a DIYer then I recommend cables from KLE Innovations

Their gZero3 Interconnect is excellent and having reviewed a lot of their product line and exchanging many emails with Keith Louie Eichman about his cables and RCA connectors I have no reason to believe his power cables would be less than stellar.Also look at the more recent QFlow3 IC’s

You may notice that the connectors I use on my IC’s and Speaker cables are from KLE Innovations also.

Some may think me CRAZY to outfit the very affordable Node 2 with cables that cost more than the unit itself, but I consider my cables more important than many components, simply because I have found through extensive component auditions, that even the most modest components perform much better with good cables.

My Node 2 now sounds so good I have stopped looking for another device for digital music.

It is very spacious and so dynamic that I consider it is the most realistic reproduction I have encountered.
It presents an exceptional level of micro details that allows it to reproduce the most granular venue acoustics I have ever heard in any system

Great cables allow the Node2 to really strut it’s stuff

Purist is a great cable much better than what you are using know.Enjoy!!

Ebm, thanks for your reply. Have you listened to the Transparent Audio Super MM2’s to compare against the Purist? You say it’s much better, I would assume so. In what ways is it better? Thanks
