Honesty is How This Tube Dealer Built His eBay Business

Sometimes you meet a seller on eBay that is 100% honest, and really knows their product.

I recently bought some pristine GE 6072 NOS NIB tubes for my Shindo Giscours.

The product was advertised as a matched pair, and I received exactly what was advertised.....tested perfectly.

The seller shipped within hours, communicated well, and his price was a little below many others.

I have "0" financial interest in this sellers company.

I just wanted to share a story about an honest seller who loves this business.

He has 100% feedback on eBay, with over 3,800 transactions.

The company is Edwards Audio Tubes, and the seller goes by the name Christopher2159.

Just thought I'd share with the audiophile community here.

Happy listening.

How did you verify this perfect match ?

great, reliable sellers of tubes are difficult to find
two experts with solid reputation and test equipment that is world class are RAM Tubes and Andy at Vintage tube supply

I'm fortunate to have a great local dealer who tested my tubes for me. Thanks for the advice on RAM and Vintage Tubes......I'll check them both out.
Here are two eBay sellers, that I’ve dealt with repeatedly, over the years, and found honest, reliable and very accurate in their testing methods: angst46 and audiotubes_de
Thank you, this is very helpful.
I hope others on this forum are paying attention to this thread, so everyone can benefit from (and support) those dealers who are honest and reliable.

FleaBay, huh? Tube life is a difficult one, trial and error until you run across that old guru that wises you up to tube world exploits. Most resellers run across a bulk sale of tubes and hype them up to be something of interest when they were really manufactured for a totally different application than high end audio.
Yep, been there done that. I miss that old guru, he passed on. Me, I’m skeptical to any tube seller since...lmfao. He turned me onto a couple of items he modded over the years. Sad part of the story wasn’t just his passing, but when his kids got to the storage and trashed all of his tube collection and modded gear thinking it was all garbage.

It’s always good to hear whenever someone is satisfied with their purchase.

Anyways, here’s a toast to that old guru...here’s thinkin about at ya.
Another vote for Andy of Vintage Tube Services. I've purchased most all of my NOS tubes from him. Great guy and really knows his stuff.....
@labpro. Yes a valuable thread - thanks for starting it, all us tube junkies need a reliable connection
Brent Jesse is one of the best suppliers in the us.
Not cheap but guaranteed. He’s got some real hard to find tubes.
Glad you aren’t my local customer who buys elsewhere and uses my equipment to quell his innate distrust of another supplier! And why you don’t do business with this EDWARDS fellow off eBay so he can picket that extra 15% is beyond me or maybe that would be giving him a bit more profit...or is whatever he’s make just as well by you??
Man, tough crowd.

OP I have had good luck with Christopher too.  I have placed to eBay orders with him.

2nd for Brent Jesse.

I have dealt with him more than once, and he has been quick to return calls, and more than helpful with advice and descriptions for particular tubes.

I would also like to give a shout out to Tyler of tctubes.com

Have dealt with him for testing tubes I ran across at estate sales, etc. and purchased some tubes from him also.

Both of these guys are first class, and go over and above to be accessible and helpful.

I have no financial connection to either, other than giving them my $$$ in exchange for some gas sealed inside a glass tube!

My last octet of NOS GE 6550As came from TC Tubes.  When one finally went South(after a couple years), they managed to find one, in their inventory of too-weak-to-sell-NOS, that matched my seven well-worn, and gave it to me.   Didn't even charge me, to test those seven.   That's service!
I bookmarked this thread. Valuable info.

Is this the place to do the opposite? I.e. report a bad experience with a dealer on the bay?
Hi Vinny55,
I'm really not sure what testing services he offers, but he tests everything he sells.

Feel free to contact him. If he can't help you, he can probably recommend someone.
