Audiophiles should learn from people who created audio

I don't know about you, but I like to have people over to hear my system. Most of my friends have never heard anything like what I've got and prior to hearing it they kinda think I'm buying into a bunch of snake oil. I like to make it clear that there's no hocus pocus voodoo snake oil at work. It's just what you get when you properly design and build a stereo. The idiots hocking their snake oil make it a point to shame those who don't buy their magic potions as if snake oil is some audiophile right of passage to legitimacy. From magic rocks and clocks to fuses and cables for which fantastical and demonstrably false claims are made, this brand of stupidity makes us all look like fools with more money than brains. If somebody wants to buy magic rocks, resonators, hocus pocus fuses, or what have you, fine... Let's not call those people audiophiles. That's not what appreciating music and quality audio gear is about. These clown are trying their best to give us all that reputation though.

To invent a side that doesn't exist to justify a stance so one can stand on their soapbox and say it with a straight face is sad, indeed.
