What's up with Soundstage Direct?

They have been my go to source for new music for years. In the past 8 months, orders have been very slow. E-mails and calls are very sketchy. Anyone else have thoughts here?

Hey everyone. Jim from Reverb/Reverb LP writing—first time post.

Just wanted to make sure everyone knew that Reverb did not acquire Sound Stage Direct. They signed up as an affiliate site after they closed down their website.

If you're having any sort of customer service issue, direct line there is customerservice@soundstagedirect.com.

Taken from the Steve Hoffman Forums Thread.
So someone is still doing something as SSD if they did this AFTER they shutdown.
really disappointing , 20 years of online retail and never been ripped off before.  $96. for 5 albums down the drain.
How do people do this to others? You know you're in financial trouble so you keep taking money and digging a deeper and deeper hole?
I'm guessing those that got refunds got the money from PP and CC company insurance funds and not because those companies were able to recover any of the costs.

What about the other people that worked there, anyone been able to reach any of them ? Karen or Rob?

Thanks for your patience!

Sincerely,
Rob Fitzpatrick

I just spoke with the record company and they estimate end of May/early June for 2112. Please let me know how you wish to proceed.

hey the link to buy a gift-certificate still works!

read somewhere they fled to Ohio, hope that makes this a Federal racketeering criminal charge
This really sucks.  I live in Doylestown and whenpurchasing from SSD would always just walk over and pick up my order.  I have know Seth for his days at PRE and is is a good guy.  A few weeks ago I was grabbing my morning bagel and chatted with him for a min.  No mention of issues.  Another buddy comes over to me right after and tells me that SSD is going out of business but did not give a reason.  I will see if I can dig up some info because I do not like dishonesty.  Hope to have info tomorrow after my bagel.  Peace.
Hi Guys, I'm from Speakers Corner Records in Germany. We have an open invoice with SSD about almost EUR 10.000,-, which is around $11.500,-. They ordered from us since 2011 in regular terms. The last order was the biggest ever and suddenly they were gone. No payment, no contact, no phone working, nothing. We even had to pay their freight costs to UPS as they gave them a bad check. Since the last order was so big, I'm sure, all this was planned to get the most money out of a sudden disappearance.
But to you as customers: you can't expect a 20% discount on the price for good analog vinyl reissues! There has to be a certain price level to make the whole thing going. Production, licenses, shipment to the US, dealer margin, aso...Buy from Acoustic Sounds or Music Direct, those companies are reliable and get our product very regularly. Thanks, Christiane
