When one’s paradigm is tuned to suit a refined preference such as yours, there is little chance of any outside element shifting the paradigm. Your invitation to Gryphonaudio, or any other representative of an element outside your present paradigm, is almost certainly doomed to fail your challenge.

It’s like inviting a salesman who represents the color blue to sell a palette of blue to a potential customer who lives in a red house, dresses in shades of red, and drinks cherry red soda. Unlikely, yes?
" my opinion is shaped by the listening of digital filtered players at my location."

What players would those be, Muralman1?
Tvad, this is not a question of preference. It is a question of live vs. Hifi. Everyone who has listened to the difference here agrees with me. One recent visitor brought a very loved SACD player. He now owns the AMR-CD 77.

All I need to do is run the collector's disc, "Lavin," on and play Sylvie Courvoisier's first four plucked piano string notes. The digital filter players, in varying degrees, truncate the decay, blend the harmonics, and blanche the tone.
My point was that it is highly, if not completely, unlikely you would change your mind, and your most recent post reaffirms my opinion in this regard.

It would be of no benefit to Gryphonaudio to accept your invitation, and certainly anyone reading this exchange would agree.

There are many satisfied owners of upsampling, oversampling and non-oversampling CD players, and I would not presume to tell anyone which approach is best, because frankly I don't believe there is a best...only what appeals to each individual.
