Opening the top of a Hafler p-1500 amp. Please

Yeah, Just turn it upside down. Shake it out. What falls in can fall out too.
Do it over something that you can SEE the screw if it falls out. If it goes into the rug, and you don't then see it. You are 'screwed' (pun intended)

UNPLUG IT IMMEDIATELY
Let it sit for a couple hours....caps can hold a charge, even in preamps.
Try the 'shake it out' routine per instructions above.

Even something as tiny as a screw can bridge a couple traces on a board or otherwise SHORT something out. Results? Never Good.

I did unplug immediately. The “shake-n-bake” routine didn't work originally as the little sucker is probably lodged inside. I need to open the top--I know, it doesn't seem like rocket science--but I just can't figure it out.

Anyone own or owned this amp?

If it was put together it should be capable of being taken apart.
Find a 13 year old! just kidding......That would be if you had a computer problem.

Some kind of spring clip? I'll look the amp up and checkout whatever photos are available.
