Calvinj will do. I've not heard the EAR pre, I use the VRE-1b preamp.

Thanks Calvinj but the EAR doesn't interest me only b/c the VRE is such an outstanding pre-amp IMHO. The VRE actually beat out my beloved Kondo M1000-MKII that retailed at $95,000. And not by a small margin I might add.
