any Dream Theater listeners out there?

They certainly don't get the attention they deserve, but what rock bands do these days. Technically they are near perfection...

I absolutely agree. They are stunning musicians from a technician's standpoint, and an incredibly tight band. I listened to them non-stop for about a year, and then I grew tired of them. Sometimes a ballad is a nice change of pace...even from bands like Dream Theater or Tool.

I think Dream Theater is amazing. One of a handful of progressive bands keeping the genre alive. Also check out Porcupine Tree. Awesome!
