DIY speakers vertical array a la "pipedreams" syst
Looks like an incredible project and priced where most anyone can afford a pair. I like the web site too, with the ability to click and view all the stages of Fred's progress as he cut and assembled, all the way to the final product with improved ...
Your Wish List for Reissue on Vinyl
Roger Waters "Amused to Death."Impossible to find new and very expensive used.
RCA to XLR adapters…
I did not price all the cables at A2Z cables.com, but the 12 foot component video (Belden) they advertise at $95.00 is available at Blue Jeans cable for $60.00.So if your building a specialty cable that may not have great resale, I suggest paying ...
Flattening warped lp's with Seal dry mount press
Photon46, your efforts are promising. If the Seal press works for you, I may copy your efforts so I can flatten out those few warped LP's in my collection that are otherwise perfect. It's likely that you must hit the exact heat and cool ratio to a...
I need help selecting a tube amp
Maybe something like push pull KT88 with some power behind them? The JBL you mention is very efficient but the large, stiff woofer is what needs the 100 watts the factory suggests.Your Crown amps with their high damping factor would be great for c...
Toslink or coax?
Scott, I am not familiar enough with your equipment to give any better answer. As suggested in my last post, the only way to be sure is invest $15.00 for the Blue Jeans digital and then borrow some big name, high priced digital links from a friend...
Toslink or coax?
I would not upgrade beyond the Blue Jeans if I were you.I have four digital cables and tests with my Sony and Scott Nixon tube DAC show shockingly little difference until you get to the VERY expensive Purist Audio Digital ($1400.00 retail). In othe...
Please help me I am in trouble with my new table..
Nicks,Soldering the clip back is a five minute job, tops. If you have a local dealer with some solder experience they should be able to do the job. If we keep this thread open for a few days, there may even be a fellow Audiogon member near you (De...
Toslink or coax?
Here is the link to Blue Jeans digital cables (Coax). They do not offer Toslink to my knowledge.Blue JeansThese are about as inexpensive as I have seen. I have their video and digital coax cables and feel they are unbeatable for the price. There a...
Toslink or coax?
My tests always came out in favor of the coax over Toslink. As for brand, Blue Jeans is excellent and VERY inexpensive. About $15.50 for a nine foot run, complete with terminations.
Please help me I am in trouble with my new table..
I don't guess you live close enough for me to repair the problem? If no, anyone with a little repair experience can reattach the cartridge clip. You need a fine point solder iron and a bit of patience :^).You have NOT permanently damaged anything ...
Problem in MAC MC240
I am not an expert but would venture a guess that either the bias or heater voltage is way out of specification, otherwise the tube would not be glowing as you describe.Any chance the bias is set wrong? Do you know how to check for this?Depending ...
Any heard of Porcupine Tree?
That's what I love about you Ralph, an excellent designer and state of the art guy that LOVES music. Not many around like you, thanks for the many music software comments over the last few days.
Bladelius Freja versus Marantz SA11
Dracule1, do you know who the US distributor is, or is it being handled via Europe?
nice turntable that plays 78s
Lousyreeds1,My comments are posted at the Lenco thread, finding it may be difficult as it is now over 2000 posts. Basically, the Lenco is a very capable turntable and enormous fun to build and listen to. I found mine at EBAY for less than $100.00....
