To access "slow mode", go to the setup menu - on screen video. One of the tabs leads you to this using the remote control to navigate.Steve N.
USB SPDIF+ Monarchy DIP, is it a good transport,?
Why put more money into mediocre components? Save your money and get rid of the Sonica and get a good converter and DAC. You might also consider modding the Theta. I recently modded an old Theta and it was amazing sounding.

Will computer to DAC replace transports and cdp's?
Pardales - no this is not a good thing. The power is coming from the computer. Power the Converter from battery or at least it's own power supply and you will realize a big improvement.

Pabelson - You are correct, some DAC's, such as the Benchmark DAC-1 will reduce the jitter from the Toslink of an AE, but most of them do a fairly poor job of this. Even the DAC-1 sounds different with different digital sources. The theory behind ...

Glass-fiber is certainly better. I have tried this with a stock AE as well. I have sold some AE upgrades, with Superclock3, new power supply and S/PDIF coax interface, and the customers seem to love them. I have designed a board to add I2S interfa...
