| Whats wrong? If you sort your system out (not sure your choice of source will ever sound that great) your speaker upgrade will be stunning. 86 the EQ and get a decent preamp for starters. | |

| NAIM Alternatives-from people who have switched. A while back I read a review in HiFi+(GB) from a Naim devotee who replaced his power amp with a new amp under the Dynavetor name. Dynavector is known for cartridges so this was a surprise to me. This new design as I recall is by the guy responsibl... | |
| Speakers Split the difference. Why blow your wad on speakers that will make you dissatisfied with your system? It would drive me crazy knowing how great my new speakers -could- sound. Consider $2k on amp, $3k on speakers. You can find some excellent speake... | |
| Why do we listen to music? Music is the universal language. Well, music, love and certain hand gestures. | |
| 250 watts: why so much power? More important than playing "extra loud" is the ability to play music at a moderately loud level without the clipping distortion and compression you would hear when using an amp that is not quite up to driving the speaker load. Its not all about y... | |
| used when promised new It seems that you are not detail oriented (anal), but think that "as new" should have been the representation for this transaction. I hope this was the gist of your feedback and nothing more. I decree: JUSTIFIED! Note- nobody cares what I think, h... | |
| Woofer damage from new Star Wars THX DVD? $1200 for one woofer? Glad I cant afford those speakers (big lie). I once blew both tweeters on some Mission speakers with a clipping 300wpc amp. They were almost new and the local super-store exchanged them on the spot. This was 15 years ago, a f... | |
| Anybody have some experience with Bedini amps? My friend drives Totem Ones with an old Bedini 25/25 he got at a pawn shop for $250. I have heard these speakers sound lousy with other low powered SS amps, but the 25/25 sounds great! | |
| Riddle me this... My buddy drives Totem Ones with a Bedini 25/25 and has no urge to "super-size". And less of us average guys can afford to now that we are being "trickled on" again. | |
| Unshielded Speakers,How Far? Do they have to be very close to the tv? If you spread them wide enough to where they sound good you shouldnt have a problem. | |
| Affordable intergrated with phono stage..new/used? If you already have an amp you like but no phono, you could add a budget phono. I recommend the Rotel RQ-970BX. Great sounding little box has fixed MM/MC retails for only $200, much better than you will find in (most?) budget amps. | |
| cd skips due to sub woofer Ill bet you have wood floors like me. Cones under and damping on top my take care of it. If that dosnt do it try a wall shelf like Target makes mounted above your rack if possible. | |
| What is a "transmission line" speaker? Go to pmcloudspeaker.com/ , go to LB1 page and click on "transmission line" highlighted in blue. Advantages of this loading can include superior control over the woofer, attenuation of higher frequencies from the back of the woofer and absence of ... | |
| new cary v12 needs new music 88 Basies Street on the JVC label was mentioned in a TAS reveiw and I ran across it on vinyl, if the CD sounds nearly as good it is wonderful. A couple of other CDs I picked up from TAS reveiws that have a high "fun factor" are "Mardi Gras Mambo" ... |
