The most erotic passages in classical music
amendment, obviously, hehheh!
The most erotic passages in classical music
Ivanj, could not agree more! You can think of Wagner whatever you like, but he was masterful without compare in putting eros to music. The Ring, as you so rightly say, abounds with it in all possible shades and variations, from the first blossomin...
Musical Healing
I used to play Keith Jarret for a severely ill and psychotic young man, who was mutistic, would hardly move and eat. It put some life into him, everytime we did this. I also helped to alleviate a very severe case of edogenous depression ( we were ...
What is your most anal audio habit?
True, true Slawney and then they stupidly say, electrostats have no real HIGHS. All nonsense, if you get your impedances right , because if that's the case, you won't need tweeters, plasma or otherwise. The music room will resound with glee and jo...
The most erotic passages in classical music
Will, interesting! If you consider the circumstances of the creation of this piece, you may well be right. Only I find sensuousness and erotic longing rather in the cantilena and in the wonderful dialogue between flutes, woodwinds and the strings....
When is the golden age of high-end audio?
Wow, Slawney, thanks, but kudos to you first, because you've brought up this inspiring thought in the first place.
What is your most anal audio habit?
Slawney, you make excellent sense. That's why I threw out the two listening chairs, which I had in my music room and put in a "Kuschelcouch" with plenty of cushions to try and find the best of the two worlds, only to find out, that is can become d...
When is the golden age of high-end audio?
Slawney, to me the "golden age" is a figment of our imagination and nothing else. It is a state of mind, best described in terms of psychology. MY golden age was, when I innocently first stumbled on the high end and was carried away by and rejoice...
What is your most anal audio habit?
Slawney, admirable! Alas, you've forgotten lovemaking.A double dose of it beforehand or none at all? Or does it depend on the type of music you wish to listen to? The Paris version of the overture to Tannhäuser, for example could do the most stra...
BEETHOVEN'S LATE STRING QUARTETS
Data, Greg did mention the Talich, which indeed give a beautiful rendering. Does anybody, besides Plsl remember the Budapest Quartet? The old one, that is and the Borodin Quartet? They are high on my list as well, but like Flex, I also generally r...
BEETHOVEN'S LATE STRING QUARTETS
I agree with Rushton, the Vegh Quartet is superb. But then the Alban Berg Quartet on EMI is in a class of its own. They are absolute masters of ensemble playing and give especially 15 and 16 an intensity and passion, which is truly out of this world!
FM Acoustics, who knows this company?
Its not Keith Johnson, Hafeez, its Rick Fryer, who is the "impossible one" chez Spectral, but otherwise I liked your piece. Cheers,
Best Electrostatic loudspeaker?
Excellent post Duke! Thanks! You've helped me to understand my (highly ambivalent) experiences with various types of ML hybrids in various rooms far better now, by expaining the obvious! Cheers,
12ax7's
Of course they are overpriced, especially the ECC803s version, but they sound wonderful all the same! Cheers,
What is the advantage of ultra bandwidth?
Bingo! Greg and Sean have said it all. Cheers,
