| Feedback on Magnum FT-11 Maybe a little late, but Woodfield summed it up well. I own the FT-11, and with the ST-2 antenna, it really is an excellent tuner-- much better sound across the board than an RD Denon. Excellent price too. Craig | |
| Good Stuff Cheap I can also recommend Sonic Frontiers SFL-1 pre-amp that can sometimes be found used for under $500.-- good features and excellent sound quality. I used one for years, and then sold it for $475. here on Agon. Craig | |
| Good Stuff Cheap I'd nominate the Syn. Res. Master Coupler at a used price of about $150 to $180. Right now I see there are a LOT of them for sale here on Agon. But what that tells me is that it is an extremely popular power cord with many "out there". I use them ... | |
| Psychological audio, proceed slowly JD; You're right about humor. I hope it never becomes unacceptable on Audiogon, and I thought your thread hilarious up to the point where you specifically mentioned Audiogon member's User Names. At that point it unfortunately became somewhat perso... | |
| Psychological audio, proceed slowly Good wires are less expensive than a good psychiatrist. Cheers. Craig. | |
| Proac 3.8 Owners Comcherry; thanks for the info. re: tilting on the 2.5s, I'll look into it further. Avguy; at least temporarily, I brought your rating back to zero for your first post here-- can't understand why you'd get negs for that? I suspect you're right, th... | |
| music you cant live without Lak.........perhaps something in the way of a high end defibrillator if you're actually going to rent the Junkies for me. That's really a generous thought-- thanks, Craig:>) | |
| music you cant live without Hi Tireguy; without a doubt it's virtually any Cowboy Junkies CD, but especially "The Caution Horses", "The Trinity Session", and lately "Waltz Across America". If I had Bill Gates' money, I would buy the "Junkies" and have them play in my den-- f... | |
| What length digital cable? I cannot tell the difference in sound quality between 1/2M and 1M digital cables in coax (haven't tried 1/2 M AES/EBU). And I absolutely guarantee that I can prove that by blind testing myself:>) Cheers. Craig. | |
| Bi-wiring mishap Kubla........bi-wiring like you did is like shaking a bottle of nitro-glycerin because you thought it was "the right thing to do"-- before using it to clean your systems contacts. Hope your G/F really is OK, and sorry about the speakers. Cheers? C... | |
| My overlooked cheap tweak Tsquared; a good reminder thanks. I use the contact cleaner supplied by Sonic Frontiers and it seems to work great. Following cleaning of all wire and terminal contacts, music is just so much more "there". | |
| What s your latest buy? Happy with it? Hi Njonker; slightly off topic but appropriate I think, I just purchased 36 CDs, and one is an absolute gem, Holly Cole's "temptations". Highly recommended for the jazz ballads. Cheers. Craig. | |
| Speaker wire is it science or psychology Stevemj; it's a shame that you're unable to trust your own senses. Craig | |
| Attention Scientists, Engineers and Na-s 70242; It's a shame that you don't trust your senses. Craig | |
| Silver vs. Copper, Effect of length Sean; thanks for the detailed and compelling argument for long speaker cables/short interconnects. I've seen some of them but not all. Now the dilemma..........thanks. Craig |
