KLIPSCH TWEETERS, WHICH STOCK TWEETERS ARE THE BEST
Simply Speakers has a replacement diaphragm 89486A but other than the reviews on their site I have seen much info on it so I don't know if it's just another supposedly inferior China import part.
KLIPSCH TWEETERS, WHICH STOCK TWEETERS ARE THE BEST
I have an old EV S12-S cabinet that may have a bad tweeter. It's the ST350A which has the round magnet like the older Klipsch K77. I replaced it once before.  I emailed Bob Crites about it and he told me there are NO good replacement diaphragms fo...
A-B testing of cables
I'm NOT saying that cables don't or can't make a difference. Cheap, thin, poorly constructed cables can be microphonic, pickup radio waves, and sound like garbage. I've seen it with guitar cables plenty of times.I question "claims" that can not be...
A-B testing of cables
No one is debating that inductance and capacitance have an effect on cable performance. The DBS "paper" is an opinion. Here's a curious challenge: http://www.audioholics.com/audio-video-cables/top-ten-signs-an-audio-cable-vendor-is-selling-you-snak...
A-B testing of cables
ZD you don't know much about me to make a statement like that. Oh wait, so that means I couldn't possibly be correct in anything I say because you've already convicted me and YOU must be correct. LOL Works both ways doesn't it.
A-B testing of cables
I would love to read a technical analysis of speaker cable "burn in" .Is someone going to suggest that the cable needs time for the electrons to "Line Up" or "configure" in a specific order so that the cables sound good? There are no moving parts i...
A-B testing of cables
I read an article on another site that linked to about a dozen tests done over the years on "High End" audio.I can't remember the name of the company or the owner but the test was an ABX test to see if people could tell which speaker cables were b...
Speakers for Office/Listening Room
Paradigm models to look for? Used is OKThe BA A-40 are dirt cheap as a lot of them need the foam surrounds. That's not a problem. I've done 7 Bose 802 4" surrounds and as long as you take your time it's not difficult. I could probably buy 2 pairs ...
Speakers for Office/Listening Room
Veroman, I'll probably use a 50-70W amp. I don't plan on cranking the music. I'll play it just loud enough so it kind of fills the room but not shake the walls.
Speakers for Office/Listening Room
I guess that narrows the field of choices a lot when one eliminates rear ported speakers.
Speakers for Office/Listening Room
Thanks for the input so far but I have a question. If I'm going to have these speakers either on a bookshelf or close to a wall shouldn't I be looking at speakers with no or front ports?
Opinions on this Cable ??
No one has any experience with this Kenwood Speaker Cable ?
Impressions of Belles 150 Amp?
Thanks TLS49.
Impressions of Belles 150 Amp?
Thanks you for the input. The amp is relatively inexpensive and if it has an issue I do have a bench setup with load, scope, freq. counter, variac, signal gen. etc.TS49 thanks, I should have, but forgot about impedance matching.I'm thinking of get...
Sleeper Vintage Tube Gear?
In another post I mention wanting to rip my LP's to digital because some were never offered on CD.I have a Kenwood C1 preamp that I'm thinking of doing some upgrade mods to. I love the sound of tube gear for guitar work and am wondering if somethi...
