Just confused about where to start
@muffinhead,Yes, synergy is very important. Specs need to checked, but the amp and speakers need to compliment each other. ie, you may not want a detailed amp with highly resolving speakers.

Amp and speakers have to work together. Consideration needs to be given to an amp that will be powerful enough to drive the speakers to their full potential. So matching is much more important than with headphones.
PC or Line Conditioner
OK, so no dedicated lines. Are you using any lighting dimmers on your first floor that introduce noise? I'm thinking that maybe you could move electrical devices from the shared line to a different breaker. In any event, another passive conditioner...
Rogue RP 1 or Super Magnum 99
Glad you like it. Let the tube rolling begin.
How much acoustic room treatment
OK. Maybe the video didn't show that. I like the design of those panels, just not the adhesive procedure.
Organic Power Cord with Micro-Detail
Very interesting, @aniwolfe . I have an Oyaide SPDIF coax and it has a superb black background plus excellent detail. Maybe there is a "house sound" for this brand.

Too bad you have to ruin the walls in your home using adhesive with the Acoustical Surfaces.
Organic Power Cord with Micro-Detail
The Audience PowerChord series present organic, warm sonics. A low noise floor allows for very good microdetail. Under $500 used.

Mid-fi integrated tube amp advice
I've listened to the Q900 driven by a 30W EL34 push-pull amp. Sounded very nice; neutral/warm, wide and deep soundstaging, and great extension without any brightness.
Inexpensive Tube Amps
@stereo5 , I'm sorry to hear about the terrible experience you had. Not to undermine your story, but on this forum I've read about a PrimaLuna and at least two Jolida amps catching fire.  So what's a buyer to do regarding Chinese-built amps? Do we...
Inexpensive Tube Amps
I agree with @atmasphere , although I bow to his expertise.
Inexpensive Tube Amps
If YOU are referring to me, I know this is a different OP. Just informing him that I would not trust a cheap Chinese amp in the long run. You get what you pay for.
Inexpensive Tube Amps
Read the current thread, First Tube Amp. The OP is auditioning a Yaquin, a highly regarded Chinese built tube amp found on Amazon.  These seem to be a cut above the mass produced Chinese amps and may be a keeper. Also, sensitivity of the speaker is...
