I just picked up a LFD Mistral, and per the reviews, the new one is just as good...no phono at $2895. How do I like it, well, I'll be selling my Leak Stereo 20 tube amp that's in mint condition for being 50 years old! But there are many good one's... 
question about the "analog sound"
I think your 'overtubed' with the bellari and the AES. Try a Graham SLEE SE2, might cost another $100 if you can find one used...i tried the bellari for grins and couldn't send it back fast enough as I'm tubed up as well...might be nice with a SS ...

Blu Ray connectability HDMI / Component
To get the best picture you'll need the hdmi...and wait on the blue ray anyway, Sony is coming out with new models as is everyone else and they'll be cheaper to boot.Go with an Oppo, great picture, and with the 980 you'll get decent sound as well....

Eastern Electric M520, based on the Mullard design of 40-50 years ago....early freeware as it were. I've tried Mullard fx2's, but the Ei 6ca7 sounds best in it. YMMVL'wood
