How important is the amp?
No amp, no sound. Good amp up to the task of driving speakers to their max, great sound. Then there is everything else in between. So it's pretty important I would say.
Tube Watts vs. Solid State Watts - Any credence?
Most tube amps soft clip so effects of not enough power are not as unpleasant. Other than that, a watt is a watt. What's different is how far a watt can be made to go. Soft clipping helps. Limited bass extension does as well. These are things that...

I have the OHMs set up better now with the c5i and this combo is knocking the ball out of the park. Best sound ever in my "open concept" family room. If 60 w/ch is enough for you this could be the last combo one would ever need. Its making me wond...

Its telling that there have been so many great blues singers over the years but its hard to say any are any greater or better than an original like Robert Johnson. If it happens, then its likely that what is being done is blues based but no longer...
Jazz for aficionados
Everyone has the right to sing the blues. But it would be nice if nobody ever had the inkling to actually do it. Will never happen in this world though I suppose.

Classical and other forms of "higher" music can nourish the spirit, but even to a larger extent than otherwise possible thanks to the blues. Its quite a synergistic relationship really.
Jazz for aficionados
The blues transcends politics and demographics.its a universal language. That's largely what makes it such a force of nature.
High value, high efficiency speakers for SET amps
Regarding the Audio Note speakers, I just saw a pair on higherfi web site that shows a retail price of $250,000.I didn't realize they could go that higher. Then again, the site is called "higherfi".Next time I hear AN-E at a show and like them, I ...
