Toe-in recommendation for stand mount monitors
"Get Better Sound" by Jim Smith would be the book to get in order to go about things best systematically if not sure. its a small investment to make to help get the best sound possible faster.
Toe-in recommendation for stand mount monitors
it should be an easy and easily reversible tweak to try it different ways and see what sounds best. There is no golden rule that always works. Everyone's rooms and personal preferences regarding what sounds best are different. What you hear matter...
Any HE Speakers with Sonus Faber Sound?
I suspect a SET amp in general will inherently provide more of the kind of sound you seek. With a SET, the challenge will be finding speakers efficient easy to drive and extended enough to compete with what is possible otherwise. With only a few wa...
New Tekton Pendragons On The Way
Al hit it pretty well, but also worth pointing out that the Goldenears contain powered bass drivers. That sets a high bar for potential bass levels that most any modest size high efficiency speaker in particular will likely never match on its own,...
What I learned on Audiogon This Year
Translation: I've found dbpoweramp, Picard, and PLEX to be valuable tools for building and maintaining a music library. I learned about dbpoweramp and Picard initially here, PLEX I found on my own actually.Has more to do with maintaining a large u...
New Tekton Pendragons On The Way
FWIW I've read the guy behind Tekton prefers SS amps with his speakers despite their reputation as high efficiency speakers that are an easy load for a tube amp.

So basically a lot of people here are burnt out on overplayed classic rock "hits". I understand completely and suffer from that affliction to a good extent myself. It rally ticks me off that "classic rock" stations still play the same things over ...
What I learned on Audiogon This Year
I still need to learn how to correctly use dbpoweramp batch tagger to automatically batch update album art files to my flac music files. Not having album art embedded in teh FLAC file causes problems correctly displaying album art when one moves f...
What I learned on Audiogon This Year
Last year I think I discovered MusicBrainz Picard as a tool for smart autotagging of music files and have gotten a lot of mileage out of the combo of Picard and dbpoweramp together since for both ripping and tagging.
What I learned on Audiogon This Year
I also learned about dbpoweramp here first and moved to that for ripping my CDs to flac instead of Windows MEdia Player to .wav
What I learned on Audiogon This Year
Seems like a good old thread to help revive.I sold a few things on Agon for the first time this year so I finally learned how to do that.
High value, high efficiency speakers for SET amps
So are these the "ones"?Nothing wrong with not being totally enamored with something and saying. I bet even Tom Brady can find something not to like about Giselle.
New Tekton Pendragons On The Way
I'd like to hear more also. Would expect Tekton and Rogue Cronus Magnum to do good things together.
New Bel Canto REF600M using NCORE
