| Granite Under Speakers Over A Wood Floor CornFB back to your original response I noticed several speakers in photos at CES using 12x12 polished marble tilesunder spiked speakers, sometimes turned diagonally for wide speakers. I recently bought some for $2 each at local builder square for... | |
| Audio Prism s CD Black light disc mat I found no positive effect on sound, I have tried several CDmats now and none gave me any noticeable improvement. It seemed to make CD harder to spin and grip by CD motor also. | |
| Speaker placement directly on floor? Forgot to mention that Polycrystal (and Audiopoints) cancome with 1/4 - 20 threads that screw directly into baseof PSB Gold-i. Audiopoints are brass, manf recommends slim version for Golds. Polycrystal are also brass, but coated with polycrystal m... | |
| Speaker placement directly on floor? I use Polycrystal collossial spikes under my PSB Silver-ito great effect. You will definitely want to look at area rug on floor between you and speakers, as tile/concrete floor will cause unwanted signal reflections. | |
| Demagnetize or NOT ? AG George always has useful, informative posts posts IMO.I own both RS demag unit and Bedini II, and feel that demagof Cds may offer some modest improvement, although sometimes I don't bother to do it. Furutech is supposed to be best unit of this ... | |
| Difference between original and remaster Very likely could be better, I do not own that album, but"sultans of swing" the 1998 HDCD remasterd greatest hits album may be the best sound of any mainstream rock CD I have ever heard, must own material! | |
| cable length Pops & Bloom are right, speaker cable 6ft shortest length or you will have no resale value, I doubt you can hear the differnece between 6ft or 3ft speaker cables anyway.Power cords go with 2 meter or 5-6 ft length, same reasonfor resale value ... | |
| Innertube Cone Tweak Abstact, I am a big fan of Aurios MIB and RollerBlocks, how do you prevent your marble/bearing supported device fromrolling off the rack? Have you tried both steel bearings and glass marbles and what is the difference? | |
| Madonna s Music. I don't care for "music" but thought the previous album "ray of Light" her best since debut. The song "frozen"and "ray of light" are outstanding and the videos are some of the best ever made. Also the video for "music" is dissappointing. | |
| MIT bashed, not Transparent, why? I own several MIT cables, and think they are very musical. On a related theme I also noitce that it is acceptable to use Bybee speaker & IC filters, but MIT network cables areridiculed.....seems like a double standard. | |
| Upgrading and Integrating The MF A300 integrated is much more detailed and transparant than the Jolida unit, sounds like a good move. I would not use an Onkyo as a preamp for A3CR amp, you would be wasting a good amp. If you want to get closer to"audio nirvana" your next s... | |
| Burn In = Voodoo? Jim, call Cable Co about Audio Desk CD edge bevel machine. They sell a special package of Audio Desk and Furutech RD-1 demagnitizer at reduced package price. If you buy duplicateCDs you can send one to them and they will bevel & demag onefor yo... | |
| Which MIT speaker cable? Jeff, you may want to try MIT speakers cables, but I wouldfirst try MIT 330+ ICs which Audio Advisor has for $150. These will do what you are looking for, and would be cheaper and more effective even than MIT speaker cables. If you like the effect ... | |
| New Age, Neo-Celtic, World Beat Music Delerium: Semantic Spaces, Karma, PoemDead Can Dance: Passage In Time, any album preceding this.I also have many Loreena McKinnet, Enigma, and Enya Cds. Thegood thing is besides good music these are almost always excellent recording quality. | |
| Perpetual P-3A vs Bel Canto DAC-1 vs MSB If you listen to a lot of average rock/alt recordings go with a new Bel canto dac 1.1, slow roll-off filter really makes many poor recordings sound their best possible. If you listen to mainly audiophile type recordings get a P3A with monolithic p... |
