| Dynaco MK III Monobloc They can be wired to run in triode mode, and will do 30W. In pentode mode, they are rated 60W @ <1% THD / 50W @ <.5% THD. You may be thinking of the MK II(actually rated as a 50W amp, but did 35W @ .5% THD. | |
| Dynaco MK III Monobloc I'd have to agree that $3K is high, for a pair of Dyna Mk III's. A really nice(operational and stock) pair, might bring around a grand on eBay. Matter of fact: (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Dynaco-MKIII-tube-amplifiers-pair-sequential-serial-numbers-s-... | |
| Any Discwasher D4 users out there? JD- I've seen most of those recipes, over the past couple months. I'll bet you had a few anxious moments, dealing with 400 moldy albums. | |
| Any Discwasher D4 users out there? Hi JD- The new fluid is readily available(eBay, etc). I just can't bring myself to trust the chinese fluid, on my vinyl. | |
| Any Discwasher D4 users out there? I guess some just don't read posts in here. DO YOU use your VPI RCM before EVERY PLAY? I'm not going to either! I've got three original NOS Discwasher brushes. To my knowledge; no one else has improved on their system of slightly wetting the recor... | |
| Any Discwasher D4 users out there? I've got a VPI RCM, THANK YOU! I still like to clean my records, before I play them(IF that's alright with YOU). | |
| Volume Pot Upgraqde I've got a 50k Ohm stereo Noble(AP25), that I'm not using. Can a 1 1/8" H X 1 1/8" W X 1 1/4" D pot fit your application? FREE, to a good home. | |
| Can magnet placed beside cartridge damage a coil? Sounds like a good dealer(to avoid)! | |
| Can magnet placed beside cartridge damage a coil? 1.3 and .8 what? Was he measuring resistance(Ohms) or output(mV)? If resistance; he's fulla shiite. A strong magnet can have an effect on a another(ie: demagnetize), but will do nothing lasting to a coil. | |
| Dynaco MK III Monobloc Their transformers(the foundation of a tube amp) are very good. The sound can vary from tubey/euphonic, to very clean and extended, depending on the owner's choice of tubes, caps, resistors and wiring. Left stock; you'll have the first presentation. | |
| Phono stage help Heroes are a nice interconnect. They were the first Kimbers that I tried. The farther up the Kimber line you progress; the more of everything good you will hear from your source. I'm using KS-1030's and a Synergistic Tricon Analog(KS-1130's on my ... | |
| Phono stage help The Shelter has .5mV of output, which may be enough, depending on your need for volume, the efficiency of your speakers, room size, and the levels at which your vinyls are recorded(which vary widely). note: One of the noticeable benefits of the me... | |
| Phono stage help Largely; the answer(re: the GFP) would depend on the output of your cartridge. There is only so much gain available(60/66dB), with the GCPH. If you are using a very low output moving coil; there may not be enough voltage, at the GCPH's output, to ... | |
| Phono stage help The GCPH's power supply already has fairly fast recovery diodes, from the factory. It responds very well, to the addition of HI-FI Tuning's Supreme fuse and an upgraded PC. I've always recommended the Zu Mother, but- they have been discontinued, a... | |
